Tubby Smith would be an awful hire. I say we go first after Bruce Pearl, and then after Jim Larranaga. Miami's probably about to get sanctioned hard, and he'll be willing to get out.

I was preaching patience on Grant all year saying that he deserves another year, but this does it for me. I'm ready for him to be gone.

Lucky said he didnt expect it but he asked about him a few months ago to someone that was extremely close to the family. At the time, they were very worried about the direction of the program under Grant, most specifically player development and style of play.

The team is just miserable

Rumor is Devonta Pollard is next

Lucky just confirmed Lacey was having doubts before he had a meeting with Grant about the programs direction and after the meeting decided to leave

Damn. So much for building on the fairly decent end to the season.

Grant failed Lacey. He's probably be in the NBA right now if he had gone to Kentucky or Kansas. I absolutely blame Grant for this, and possibly ruining Lacey's basketball career. If that's not grounds for firing someone, I don't know what is. It's okay to lose games sometimes. It's not okay to ruin NBA prospects

Your fricking delusional if you saw Lacey in the high school and you thought that he would ever sniff the NBA. His whole claim to fame is that he could shoot the ball over everyone in high school. Never wouldve worked in college. He is too fricking slow. He is the one player that would catch the ball at the top of the key and instead of continuing to swing it would ask for a clear out. I am glad that he is gone. Didnt work hard at all and bitched on the court. I for one am happy that he is gone. Hopefully we will play more up tempo because that seems to be the only problem with Grant and that he gives them no freedom on the court. Hopefully we use this scholarship on someone. Yall can stop the fire Grant shite because he aint going anywhere. I wish he would though.

You know, I wasn't around during the Shula years, so I don't know how it feels to be near the bottom of the SEC at a major sport. I guess I'm about to experience it now...........

Well since it's so fricking obvious, Grant shouldn't have RECRUITED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

After watching Lacey play for two seasons, regardless of the system, it is pretty crazy to think he'd be in the NBA "right now" if he had been at UK or Kansas.

Unfortunately Alabama basketball has never been in the position to only cherry pick recruits that we think will be in the NBA in two seasons.

He wouldn't be in the NBA right now even if he would have been drafted out of high school.
