“I think he’ll win the Heisman next year,” Dilfer said. “Everyone’s going to say, ‘That’s hyperbole. Dilfer raving about an Elite 11 kid.’ I got a bunch of Elite 11 kids. Jake Fromm was an Elite 11 kid … I think this kid (Tagovailoa) is as special as any kid since Jameis Winston. Because he’s at Alabama — because he’ll have to compete this spring no matter what. Nick’s going to demand it, and he’s going to continue to get better. Because they’ll now run an offense that makes sense and threatens all parts of the field. The runners will be better because they’ll have lanes to run in. The offensive line will be better. They’ll convert more third downs, and their defense will be better. Alabama will be the best team in the country, and he’ll be the best player on the best team in

Dilfer also sunshine pumped the shite out of Blake Barnett, but we've seen Tua play an extended amount of snaps so I'll allow it

I mean, it could certainly happen but

Dilfer also sunshine pumped the shite out of Blake Barnett

Along with a lot of other QBs that never amounted to anything, so his credibility isn't the greatest.

Have you not seen Dilfer's Dimes? Guy is the leading expert in all things QB.

Trent Dilfer....."Sean White is a GameChanger"

Tua sure looks the part and he did that in the Bama A-Day game. June Jones did a great job helping the kid as well. He knows what to do with the ball early in the play. I am hopeful he will buckle down in the film room and Scott Cochran will get him physically ready for the grind.

I don't think he'll get enough stats here to win the Heisman unfortunately.

We have so many good running backs.

I might be excited by this if dilfer knew the first thing about quarterbacking.

This kind of talk is exactly what we don't need. I'm going to play it cool.

I think with our offense, if we had no Jalen to turn to, Barnett would have been an alright QB in the long run.

Dilfer hasn't always been right with his accolades about QBs, but what he says about Tua's ability combined with the talent level of our offense for 2018 isn't really outrageous. I'm very optimistic about our offense for next seaon.

Maybe. The kid didn't start at Arizona State this past year, though.

I dont care what dilfer says, but Tua has the makings and has the receivers around him to put up big numbers

True, but losing a QB battle has got to be tough. Between Star Jackson, Philip Sims, Barnett etc, I feel like there's reasons they lost their battles, but if they were the only option, we would have made at least one work.

What he said isn't wrong.. but I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic. As mentioned earlier dilfer is known for hyperbole and hasn't been right very often. I applaud him for working and mentoring young QBs . It'll be important for the skill guys to keep improving along with Tua.

With Tua at QB, we might have a runningback make a run at the Heismann.
