I was surprised that Latham got so little PT and very surprised that Brockermeyer was absent. Anybody have an idea about why Brockermeyer didn't seem to develop more quickly?

Came in a little light for the position . Reminded me of Pierce Quick… needed a redshirt year to add weight. Quick struggled with that early on

Brockermeyer allegedly didn’t have an SEC body as a true freshman.

5-star based on frame, athleticism, technique, and potential. But word was that he came in at 6’6 280lbs.

He needs to add at least 30lbs to play tackle in the SEC on that frame.

His profile on the team website has him listed at 6-5, 305. Hopefully he continues to grow into his frame.

I also heard Latham didn't play OT until his senior year. Before that, he was DL only. So, he's basically the opposite of Brock. Prototype OT body, but raw as hell. Take his body and Brocker's skill, and you'd have an elite O linemen.

They'll get there. People just need to chill on looking at stars, and redirecting immediate contribution. I personally expect nothing from a freshman. If you're relying on an 18 year old to be the difference in a title, then you aren't elite.

Give them time to develop, so they aren't forced into a situation they're unprepared for. Too often, guys are forced into situations, and it kills them mentally. Not all positions are equal. Some require much more to learn before they can contribute without risking disasters. OT is very hard to learn at the elite SEC level.

Any word on when Christian Harris is gonna announce something? And are there any guys who haven't signed with an agent, and could possibly return?

I would imagine Brockermeyer will have the requisite size for tackle by spring. Someone’s going to have to step up and prove themselves a LT tho. Replacing Neal will easily be the toughest task this off season

Tuesday is the declaration deadline so we should know something soon.

I would think that he’s leaning on coming back. One good healthy and productive year would do his draft status wonders!

Zenitz just tweeted:

The expectation continues to be that Alabama junior linebacker Christian Harris will end up turning pro, sources tell

.

Potential first-round pick who’s viewed by scouts as a Day 2 pick at worst. Finished the year with 79 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

Has anyone heard anything on Labryan Ray or Daniel Wright returning?

That may be the expectation, but since he hasn't announced yet, he must be seriously considering coming back.

As for Ray, a full season of being healthy should make him rise quite a bit in the 2023 draft.

I'm excited to see what some of the other MLBs have got honesty.

Harris played his arse off the last 5-6 weeks on the season. I’d love to have THAT guy back next year.

Wait until you start seeing early enrollee incoming freshmen transferring out in May because they didn’t like the way spring ball went.

This blanket waiver is just a disaster.

Gotta be very, very careful about the kind of kids we recruit. That's really all you can do to prevent a bunch of early departures.
