I agree. Getting these very experienced Safeties back is huge. Think about how much better Hellams got this year? If he makes another leap this dude is going to go off. Same for Battle.

Hellams another guy id like to see a young guy playing in front of. For him to be a guy whose biggest asset is hitting he misses a lot of tackles.

Hellams was really good the 2nd half of the season

Agree - nobody made a bigger leap this year than Hellams. He was fantastic the last half of the season.

If Allen, Ray and Harris leave as expected and Battle is truly back....we return

- 77% tackles
- 74% TFL
- 21 players played 100 defensive snaps. We return 16 of them.

And that does not include the addition of Eli Ricks.

I think Battle is surprising cause pretty much every thing I have seen has him as a second round talent and I don't know how much a good year next year will change that. Now if he got a return to school for his draft eval I get it.

So if Slade and Metchie are both gone, any guesses on our top 4 WRs? I’m thinking:

Brooks
Hall
Holden
Bond

Would guess we'll look for another veteran outside WR in the portal.

Yeah, unless you're a freakish talent at safety like Kyle Hamilton, you don't really go high in the first.

It's been 2 drafts since a safety was even drafted 1st round, which 2 went late first 2019...

JoJo/Leary in the slot. Brooks one outside. Holden vs Hall for other outside.

I hope Ray returns for one more. He could be really valuable for minutes. The guy has been hurt since he signed with The King. Maybe add some much needed leadership as well.

I think one of the incoming freshman will start. We need some serious speed aside from the slot receiver.

Bama needs better balance between the RB receiver, the H-back/TE, the slot receiver, and the WR's. If each individual group gets better, then the entire passing game will be better.

Maybe I'm just looking at straight line speed but I believe Isiah Bond might play next year. If he has the quickness in his routes he has downhill, he is going to be good.

I honestly believe if just one of the backs could have been a threat to catch the ball out the backfield the season would have ended different (if you trust BOB would have used them ).

Chase, Gibbs, and Williams are all good receivers out of the backfield.
