I definitely think we're in the NIT. Hell our RPI might've even gone up today
But seriously, I think last night locked up our NIT spot. Lunardi had is in his next four out for the NCAAs during the game tonight. Don't know where that came from, but it bodes well that our quality wins will get us in the NIT. Ideally not against UAB.

I think we still had a tiiiiiiny chance with a loss today, if it hadn't been so bad.
And if Michigan, LSU and UConn hadn't won.
But all those things happened...

If by tiny, you meant 0.0% then I agree

No, I'm great at reading comprehension. I guess you aren't, though. I think having 0 chance to win a game is relevant to the statement "this is a a win and get in game." Maybe you don't, but that goes back to reading comprehension I guess.
Hope this helped.

I think we have Dayton at home too.

Probably at home.
Gotta remember for the NIT that regular season champs get an automatic bid and believe most of the teams who don't qualify for the NCAA have lost. We'll definitely be in it, but I don't know what our seeding will be.

Yea there are 11 non major conference winners already in the NIT. Most of them will be lower seeds, and 1 or 2 may still make the NCAA tournament, but there aren't as many at - large NIT bids to go around this year.

There are also quite a few more smaller conference championship games today. Half of the NIT field could easily be smaller conference auto bids. It's a good thing we beat Ole Miss Thursday night, I don't think we would've gotten in without it (and I retract an earlier statement, I don't think we're assured of getting a bid but I do like our chances).

I've actually gotten pretty excited about being in the NIT. Didn't think I would, but I have. We possibly have a chance to play UAB and that would be an electric atmosphere either in Coleman or Legacy Arena. And just having a shot against 31 other teams to win a championship is awesome. Imagine the hype we would have coming into next year if we won the whole thing. We also may land a recruit or two bc if it.

I love your enthusiasm, honestly, but I wouldn't count on a recruiting advantage from it. It largely gets ignored but it's fun if you like watching your team
I'm excited too though, nobody thought we'd ever be in any postseason tournament when the season started. Another bid or two have been taken up by smaller conferences, but I'm pretty sure we're still in. I think we'll even get a home game, unfortunately I'd bet a few dollars it's a 3/6 or 4/5 matchup against UAB.

No lol I know we won't get any recruits to notice just by participating. I'm saying maybe by making it to New York and possibly winning the championship, then maybe that'll help a recruit like Bruno see the potential Alabama has. That would also get us a little more respect coming into next year.

Any win in the NIT couldn't hurt, but I don't think it will help.
What it will take is deep runs in the NCAA tournament or conference championships.

I actually have changed my mind, I don't think we're going to get in. Just so many smaller schools taking up bids and the list keeps getting longer. Just last night Akron lost their title game, so they're in, and Fresno St beat SDSU to steal an NCAA bid and knock somebody else to the NIT.

I just think its crazy that a team that was in the first four out about a week ago probably won't get into the NIT.
I think we're in, of course, they did shorten it up to 32 I believe.

I don't see how they could leave us out. We're ahead of some of those teams like Ole Miss in the NCAAT bracketology so why wouldn't we be in ahead of them in the NIT?
Posted on 3/13/16 at 11:46 am to Gary Busey
Yea 32 teams make it, but 12 spots are already taken by teams who won their regular season conference titles but lost in their tournament. Essentially you could say the entire 6-8 seeds are taken already just to visualize it. So if some project us as a 5 seed, that's right at the back of the field.
I do agree that I can't see Ole Miss or LSU getting a bid before us though.

If LSU gets in and we don't, I give up.

Doubt they would do that. Bama has more impressive wins and similar losses.
