Alabama Football Ticket Request Information

Dear SOG,

As you know, the SEC recently announced that the 2020 football season will be comprised of a 10-game, conference-only schedule that will kick off on September 26. In compliance with state public health guidance, seating in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the 2020 Alabama football season will be socially-distanced resulting in approximately 20% seating capacity. Also, due to guidelines relating to social distancing and large gatherings, tailgating will not be permitted on The University of Alabama campus for the 2020 football season.

Based on your Tide Totals rank, you are eligible to request up to two tickets to one of two mini-plans. The ticket request deadline is Friday, August 28. After the deadline, tickets will be allocated based on Tide Totals priority points as of August 1.

You may opt out of tickets for the 2020 season by indicating your decision on the ticket request form. Please know that opting out of tickets for this season will not impact your TIDE PRIDE membership in the 2021 Alabama football season. This request is for the 2020 season only.

Click here for a list of Frequently Asked Questions related to your ticket request and the 2020 season.

Whether you request tickets or opt out, you will have the option to request a full or partial refund of any remaining credit for TIDE PRIDE contributions and ticket purchases. Communication regarding the refund request process will be sent after tickets are allocated. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to further support the mission of Alabama Athletics by donating all or part of your account credit to the newly established Crimson Core Fund. Please click here to learn more about this essential initiative.

We are committed to providing the safest game day experience possible for our student-athletes, staff and fans. Adherence to public health guidance and implementation of best practices necessitates several changes to the game day experience this season. You can learn more about those changes here.

If you have any questions, please contact the Alabama Athletics TIDE PRIDE/Ticket Office at (205) 348-2262 or by email at ticketoffice@ia.ua.edu.

I can not remember the last time we did not go to a football game in T-Town in person. We have not missed an SEC home game since 2006...

Damn you 2020

I have a 2 year old and a pregnant wife. I wasn't going to be able to attend anyways.

Frankly, I figured it’d be completely empty.

Only thing at least with no traffic, you can get in and out possibly.

Tailgating was basically a necessity if you did not want to sit in traffic.

Granted last few years, especially post game traffic they have really improved it.

We have been to every opening home game & haven't missed an SEC game in Tuscaloosa since the early 2000's.

But with my husband's bad lungs and heart, we will have to be couch football fans this year.

A reduced-capacity student section is also being allocated across each class. Seniors will receive 40 percent of the available seats, followed by the juniors (20 percent), the sophomores (15), the freshmen (15) and graduate and/or professional students (10). All student tickets will be priced at $20 per game, and each student will be able to attend only two games.

After the opt-in period closes, seats will be allocated by credit hour within each class. The first 40% of the section will be assigned to seniors in order of most UA credit hours earned to fewest. Then, 20% of the section will be assigned to juniors in the same manner, and so on. If a single class does not combine to request as many tickets as the class is allocated, the remaining seats will be given to the next highest class level. Whether you receive a ticket will be determined by your class level, your credit hours earned, and the number of students within your class who also request a ticket to the same game. If a credit hour tiebreaker is needed within a specific class, a random lottery will determine which of the tied students receive a ticket.

Postseason ticket availability will be communicated at a later date if Alabama is likely to participate in a postseason game. In that scenario, priority access to postseason tickets would be determined by UA credit hours earned since Tide Loyalty Points is suspended for the 2020 season.

Lower and upper bowl seat assignments will be based on UA earned credit hours among students who qualified for a ticket to that game. It is possible to receive a lower bowl ticket for one game and an upper bowl ticket for another game depending on the credit hour cutoff for each game.

The student section is general admission seating. Seats that are open will be marked with a sticker or tape. You may sit in any marked seat on a first-come, first-served basis within your assigned bowl (lower/upper).

Clusters of seats will be available in sets of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Cluster sizes are intentionally varied to maximize the capacity of the student section while maintaining group sizes and social distancing standards that adhere to current health guidelines.

This could kill attendance for college games for a long time. Lots of people are going to figure out how much better it is to watch games from home.

Yeah! I like that student ticket distribution. Daddy's girl is a freshman with roughly 50 credit hours. Should be good enough to score a couple of games.

20% and no tailgating means Tuscaloosa is screwed. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. UA thinks the fans will always be there. This one is done with the damn Democrats who run things. I have a friend who paid them $11000 dollars this year. He is a damned fool.

I normally have 4 and am in the middle of the Tide Pride pack, points-wise, ranked at 9,364. I'm not doing that 2 or 3 game plan BS. I opted out and am getting a full refund. I'll do something else with the $2,500.

Got the email for 4 tickets with the disclaimer of no guarantee of seats. I think our family ranking is 564 or something of that nature. It also mentioned post season will be addressed if/when it’s clear we make it. We all agreed today, screw it ,a game is a game and donating isn’t an option and the partial refund isn’t either. Games with that few people will be weird, but maybe nice with stretching room.

The email clearly states they are following the state guidelines. Last time I checked Alabama has a Republican governor and a Republican super majority in the state house and senate.

I know it is completely unrealistic due to the donations and clout of said donors, but I really wish they would have made this season students only. 20k students in the stadium would have been awesome and a nice gesture. It is their University and team after all.

Does anyone know if you can opt out after you see what tickets you are offered? For example, let’s say I opt in and get selected for a package. Then my seats are in the upper deck end zone rather than 30yd line like normal... can I then opt out?
