He came close a couple of times, but unfortunately never benefitted from an extra 20 minutes of basketball.
In all seriousness though, Charvez was clearly head and shoulders above those other 3 in terms of basketball ability. Good spot up shooter. He'd probably do well as the 3rd guy off the bench in our current program. None of the others would even be able to walk on.

Will the Pelicans play any summer league games in Birmingham, or are those games in just a few sites?

I think there is one summer league game in Birmingham, Pels v Hawks.
Eta: it's a preseason game not a summer league game. Fwiw.

This is a random thought, but we are never getting a new arena. I caught hell a few years ago when I said that they would never do the upgrades to Coleman. They just don’t have the damn funding, I wish they would at least charge an extra damn dollar for football tickets, so we could get something going. Damn

I do think it was moving that way but NIL ruined any chance. We gotta buy football players now. I guess that’s what we get for CONSTANTLY putting it off

It’s amazing how the BDS renovation got done that next year….isn’t it?

That's what lack of longterm vision gets you. It's frustrating but typical of Alabama (state included).

That's a bit misleading bc most of that comes from JQ.

NEVER talk crap about Carl Engstrom. He always gave what he had to give, and thats all you can ask of anyone. There have been times where that has not been the case with players that had a lot more ability that he had.
Posted on 7/5/22 at 11:54 am to antibarner
I agree that engstrom gave his all... But the point is that u can see the change in the way this staff recruits as opposed to past staffs.. engstrom should never have been on a power 5 roster, wasnt even a basketball player originally. He was a project , some projects become very developed and others are just a body. This coaching staff has a system and type they recruit to, they wont just sign bodies to fill a roster.

Keon Ellis had a nice game for the Kings summer league team.

In Sacramento’s 81-64 win over the Heat, Ellis finished with a team-leading 17 points while shooting 6-for-8 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. But the Kings were more pleased with his work on the other end.
“What’s most impressive about Keon is his defense,” said Kings summer-league coach Jordi Fernandez. “He guards really hard, keeps his body in front of bodies and is long. He has a good feel for not getting hit on screens.”
Makes sense. The Kings signed Ellis to a two-way contract after he landed on the SEC’s All-Defensive Team during his senior season at the University of Alabama.

Where's our schedule? They'll be asking for ticket money soon so I figure it'll be out maybe next week?
