It’s taken a few day to get over that one. Trying to focus more on what a magnificent season it has been (31-6) instead of dwelling on what might have been. I went back a few pages and didn’t see this posted so here’s some additional season recap info

He is a heck of an athlete. If he wants to be an inside player, he need more weight. Otherwise he needs a better outside shot. He needs to gain some good weight, IMO.

31 wins and 6 losses. Two of the teams that beat us are in the Final Four. This was a great year for Alabama basketball. Really an overachievement considering all the youth contributing. Who would've thought that we'd finish the season as the AP's #1? Two SEC championships, three straight tournament births and recruits are finally noticing Tuscaloosa ain't a bad place to play college hoops. Alabama basketball's future is bright and will continue to get brighter. Future home and home game against Arizona? Wow! Nate Oats is pushing all the buttons he possibly can to make this program successful.

Sears had 16 points and 10 rebounds. He was our best player of that game.

I posted about that very issue towards the end of the season last year and got roundly downvoted. My understanding of basketball it's always been a given that the first thing that goes when you're fatigued is your outside shooting. Coach made two or three comments early in the season about keeping the guys fresh and I was hopeful that he actually was going to follow through on it. But in an interview late this season a reporter asked him about getting the starter some rest and he explains that the NBA did load management because they played so many games but since college teams only played about 30 or 35 at most he didn't believe load Management in college. I was afraid that was going to come back and bite us again. This is the fourth year that we've underachieved at the end of the season, mainly because of per shooting and being a step slow. We might as well get used to it until he finally sees the light.

I don't know whether it was on this board or another one but I saw a conversation about girly and Pringle being our only two players that really played winning ball the last game or two. To Anybody that understands the concept of burnout that would not come as a surprise.

People always talk about legs regarding fatigue, and yes legs are a huge part of shooting, but eye discipline is a major issue when a kid is fatigued as well.
I believe a lack of eye discipline is one of the reasons Bradley struggled the whole year, when he shouldn't have. Kid has excellent form after all, but he wasn't aiming at the correct spot on the rim.
I've coached several kids that had good form but missed everything, and after we worked on eye discipline and where to aim, it clicked.
Mental fatigue and stress are a huge factor, I think. After 6 days off in the SEC Tourney, we came back after the aTm loss and shot well because we were loose, relaxed, and hungry.
We were rested for the NCAA, but we weren't hungry, and we were super tight. That stress effected the kids mentally and caused concentration issues.
