i find it odd and disheartening that this team already has to have a pre season players only meeting and two years in a row we have players not 100% heading into the season. Just my old school way of thinking. And you lose a scrimmage by 30?

I love the fact that JQ & Bediako called a meeting before the season even starts.

That should be some exciting news for the fans because it seems like those two are trying to show some leadership
Yeah this is really encouraging. I think they realize what happened last year in that these "come to Jesus" meetings were too little too late. TCU is the exact kind of team that should give this team fits at this juncture being so upperclassmen heavy and us being so young, but it's great to know that they're not letting that be an excuse and still addressing things before they're even able to become a problem.

TCU is a top 15 team who has the most experience in the country.

And we were without 3 guys who will probably be starters once we get to conference play

I’m sure it’ll be $5 or $10 general admission tickets for the students. If not, no way they could call it a charity game

I also have no idea why it’s students only because don’t they have fall break that weekend to coincide with the football bye?

To be fair, this was a very tame melt from only a few folks. I think most just ignored the result since it’s meaningless.

Since when do we ignore opportunities to melt due to rational analysis of the meaning of the event?

Melt wasn’t much because we had a few starters out and TCU is a legit top 15 team.

A lot different losing by 30 to TCU under these circumstances than losing to Jacksonville State by 30 with one guy getting 7 fouls in like 5 minutes

I gotta say I was very impressed with Nate yesterday. He didn’t overhype us like he usually does the first 3 years and was just very honest about where we stood. I liked it. I think he learned his lesson after last year

Nah. That was just the dress rehearsal for the people who need a tune up. The first real melt will come when a predicted starter gets hurt badly enough to miss a month+ or we're down by 8 to Longwood at the first media timeout.

Like, from a career standpoint?

If Herb can have a career as a great defensive player like TR Dunn or Keith Askins, he will have madehis mark on the NBA. Hard to argue with Big Shot Bob though.

I know some students pretty close to everything and even they don’t know. They’ve done a POOR job of filling us in on this exhibition. Telling you now if this was Pearl and Auburn, they would’ve hyped this up, had free food, and anything else they can think of and had a sellout. But here we are 8 days away and no one knows a damn thing.

Do they have to call it a “charity” exhibition in order to have it? Even so, looks they would’ve at least sold tickets and given the money to some kind of charity. Couldn’t have been that hard.

Think they'll let me in if I show up with my student ID from 2005?
