Elite QB set to make way to T-Town (BOL-VIP)

quote:

Alabama is set to host Kentucky this upcoming weekend for its first game of November. And while the Dead Period keeps recruits from having in-person contact with the coaching staff, it does not prohibit prospective student athletes from buying a ticket and attending the game. One top recruit that is planning to do that this weekend is 2022 four-star quarterback  Ty Simpson of Martin (Tenn.) Westview, he tells BamaOnLine. This will mark Simpson's sixth trip to Tuscaloosa, the school that along with Tennessee he's visited the most. . . .

re: Tide FB Recruiting & Roster
I know John Hicks, the previous coach/AD at Niceville. He built them into the powerhouse that they are before he retired, but never could get over the hump and win a title. I know he played St. Thomas Aquinas for one and got boat raced. He started getting them deep into the playoffs yearly about 10 years ago. But John is the reason Niceville is the badass of the panhandle now. I used to work with his wife, Susan. Great people, if you can overlook that they are barners. He's the main reason Eli Stove is in Auburn.

He's also a major reason Niceville is a badass in just about every sports program they field. It's a damn good school, both academically and athletically. Almost moved there so the kids could attend. It's like a small college.

re: Tide FB Recruiting & Roster
You are absolutely right, he was a machine and definitely made them relevant. My nephew plays on the team and my step son did last year. We live in Destin but any of my kids will got here as it’s a far superior school. Another kid from Niceville is Auburns center I believe. I hope we get Thomas he is a player.

We haven't offered this kid, but I believe BamaBo7 is one of his coaches.

OLB John Lewis Senior Film

He was unranked yesterday and now 247 has him ranked #166.

Turner, Smith headline Alabama commit moves in latest Top247 (BOL)

Updated Top247 for class of 2021: The battles are heating up (247)

The big risers in the updated Top247 rankings (247, segments)
quote:

CB Devonta Smith (up to No. 149)

The last time 247Sports updated its 2021 rankings, Cincinnati (Ohio) La Salle  Devonta Smith was discussed as someone that might need to break into the Top247. The rankings council decided to hold off, but after 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong got a chance to watch Smith play in-person back in September, it became clear that the Alabama commit needed to be in.

Wiltfong describes Smith as a "quick, hard-hitting defensive back" that's a "sound tackler, typically arriving with a thud." Smith produced all season long as a senior for a La Salle squad that lost in the semifinals of the state playoffs. He is expected to sign with the Crimson Tide in December and start class in Tuscaloosa the following month as an early enrollee.

As a sophomore Smith went 11.21 in the 100-meter dash. He made 38 tackles and picked off three passes as a junior.

OTHERS

Terrion Arnold (up to No. 26) – Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Miami and plenty of others continue to battle it out for the Tallahassee (Fla.) St. John Paul II star. Some schools even think that Arnold is athletic enough to get it done at cornerback.

re: Tide FB Recruiting & Roster
Wiltfong's article says he thinks all of the top 10 guys Bama is after are leaning elsewhere: JTT to OSU, Sorey to UGA, Arnold to UF, M Smith to LSU.
