Honestly im hoping the Falcons take Justin Fields and hire Erik Bieniemy. Trade Ryan to get some cap space, and try to get Julio to restructure his contract to help out some or trade him. I love Julio, but he and Ryan have way too much money tied up.

. Anyway I mean that is what Shanahan's offense requires, a pocket passer who can read the field and get the ball out on time so Mac is a good a prospect as any. If you want a mobile guy you want a new head coach. Shanahans run the ball with zone blocking with the backs to great success. I much rather the Niners get Surtain although I know they can't.
Catch me in the NFL thread if people want to talk more draft.

on 1/13/21 at 4:05 pm to CarltonWouldn't be surprised to see a couple more DBs end up moving on. Battle was a sophomore, Hellams was a redshirt freshman or a sophomore, and Branch and Moore were both freshmen. Not a ton of playing time to be had with a bunch of young dudes establishing themselves.

How we maneuver the DBs will depend a lot on if Jobe moves on and if Koolaid is ready day one.
Assuming Jobe leaves, we’ve got Branch, Moore, Battle, Hellams, and Wright who are all start-able. I think if the staff saw a bright future with any of the others, we would have seen more of them by now.
Assuming one of Jobe leaving and Koolaid not being ready happens, I think one of Branch or Moore will end up at corner. Branch looks more the part to me. That’ll leave the other sophomore in a fight with Hellams and Wright for the other safety and star spots. I’m betting based on how Hellams finished the year, that Wright will end up the odd man out. As a senior that could end with the transfer portal, I assume he won’t want to settle for being the dime man in his last year.

At this point, it would be a lateral move. Thought Surge had posted at one point, if he left it would. E with Saban’s blessing. So, maybe he stays. As Bo said, it says a lot about him when Smitty went straight to him after coming back after his injury.
