Story coming.

My 92 year old Grandmother just passed away. She was born in Germany back in 1927. She survived the war and met my American Military Grandfather towards the end of the war. They were married and then she moved to The United States, leaving behind everything she had ever known.

When she got to America she might have lived in the worst place for a young German woman to live. Cullman, Alabama. It wasn't easy, but then they moved down to Jefferson county. Everyone that knew her loved her. She was known in Center Point as the nice German lady that worked at TG&Y. She was one of the toughest and hardest working people I have ever known. That generation is truly the greatest generation. She had 3 kids and 4 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She'll be missed by every one of us.

She and my Grandfather lived down the road from me and my mom and they both helped raise me. I would stay with them while my mom was working and I would just hangout there a lot because I enjoyed their company.

Sorry for babbling guys, it's just easier for me to talk about things here than in person with folks.

Two girls from the Cobrasize "good luck" posts discover that he has noticed them. Natalie and Sofia arrested during a cat fight in a Tuscaloosa bar while attempting to garner his favor.

We'll have a memorial good luck jib in a little bit. It would be awkward if folks saw me scrolling thru hot women before they even remove my grandmother's body

Thank you. If it wasn't for my grandmother, I would have forgotten all about those stores

It was a little shopping center and there was a TG&Y, Eckard drugstore, and a Radio Shack

Thank you, she was a really good person. I'm selfishly sad, but she had a good long life. She lived by herself and took care of herself until she had a major stroke 3 years ago. Things got progressively worse after that.

Sorry about your grandmother. Side note: I thought Cullman was famous for historically having a german population? Or am I thinking of the wrong place?

Thank you. This was directly after the war, so the rednecks up there weren't very understanding. If there is a German population up there, she sure didn't run into them

Thank you. They were great. They were both tough as hell and hard workers. I'm pretty sure it was just the mentality of that generation

Sorry for your loss, brother. I hope y'all can manage to celebrate her life and legacy while dealing your grief.

And Cullman, huh. I'm surprised the whole county didn't side with Germany during the WW2 (half-joking; I have a whole bunch of extended family scattered all around Smith Lake, Cullman, Jasper, etc).
