I hope so. We won a natty with Golding. That proves how great our program is. But, I hope this is Goldings last season in Tuscaloosa

I believe it is the problem. It was the problem last season and I truly believe they took play calling duty away from Pete. I think Saban truly believes that Golding is good, but was hoping he would learn from Strong or someone else. It hasn’t happened. What he is teaching, isn’t translating to the field. Our guys are fricking lost and our fundamentals are trash.

MLB play has been terrible on the whole since Pruitt left.

Yes it has. Just look at Mack Wilson. Unbelievable his first years and then his last with Golding sucked, then he starts for the Browns

Downside is he won't make a change till end of season. So full year of this defense to watch.

I'm sure Goldiing will land somewhere else like Nuss did

We won a Natty with like 5 first round NFL players on offense! Golding had nothing to do with that!

Especially given what Georgia is doing. Defense is hard these days, but it’s not like playing elite defense in this day in time can’t be done, it’s that Pete Golding can’t do it.

It may take two more losses. If the result is that we are able to get Clay Helton and Jeremy Pruitt as coordinators, I may be able to live with it

He went full SARK mode a few times mainly at the goal line!

I think Golding is running the defense Saban wants but those blitz schemes are laughable.

I firmly believe Saban tried to give him the Nussmeier treatment, last year, but no one wanted him. His name was rumored for a couple of jobs.

Next year, Pete will be coaching high school or FBS.

Sometimes you know the playbook, but you got to have a guy that has a feel for calling plays.

So I agree he is running the defense, just not at the right times

I agree with this, but I also think you have to have a guy that can translate things from the whiteboard to the field. I don’t believe Golding has reached that point yet. fricking Tennessee is about to diddle our buttholes if we can’t get something done

In more meaningful games I think Saban would've taken over the defense. But, I think he wanted to see if Golding would sink or swim. Golding sank again and I hope that ends his DC tenure.

I agree with this. I’m hoping this has opened Saban’s eyes even more. This was bad

Our blitz packages are laughable now. Elko was tearing our arse up with the blitz whenever he wanted to get to Bryce. We haven’t laid a hand on Calzada yet! We never get to the QB when we blitz.
