The stealing signals excuse/theory

Seems kind of far fetched. I mean Kiffin was last here in what 2016? And we’ve had 2-3 different D coordinators since then. And we are still using the exact same signals?

He didn't even say that really. He literally said it almost in passing as a quib about how great Lane's plan was.

Even if it is true, no need to say it out loud. It's a bad look. And that wouldn't impact shitty tackling one bit anyway.

Okay. But I believe Moses was quoted as saying “definitely” they were stealing signals.

Moses saying it is a totally different story for sure.
That shite is pathetic

If they are truly using that excuse then it’s a pathetic look. If Saban really believes that then he’s more out of touch with reality than I realized.

This one is on Saban.

Did ole miss change up plays after the defense was set?

Regardless, they would only need to steal a few signals. The rest of the time they ran hurry up and kicked us in the nuts, didn’t need to steal shite on like 75% of their plays.

Its an excuse. Poor fundamentals and lack of execution is not a result of knowing signals.

He knows this because he said it last night at his PC. About him mentioning Kiffin stealing signals, he clearly wasn’t throwing an accusation at him. He was complimenting him because he mentioned that they had the perfect counter drawn up for every alignment our defense showed last night. To make sure this wasn’t taken the wrong way and mistaken as an excuse, he made sure it was understood that stealing signals is not uncommon and thus part of the game.
Dylan Moses, on the other hand, wanted to make it an excuse for why the defense he quarterbacks played so poorly last night.

Stealing signals doesn’t mean he knew the signals from when he coached at Bama. High school teams have coaches whose jobs are to steal signals. You don’t think colleges have multiple people working on this? Saban said it’s not uncommon for teams to steal the signals. I didn’t take it as he knew them from his time in Tuscaloosa.

Saban didn't say stealing signals, he said they knew the play. That can easily be familiarity with sets they run. Moses saying "they stole the plays" could be a response to adjustments made before the snap.
Conjecture for both sides, but if I had to guess i'd figure Kiffin just knows Saban's tendencies after 3 years of nonstop play at practice and last years film of Golding's defense. He kicked our arse last year in the run game too.

It doesn’t upset me if Ole Miss knew our signals. That’s on us and it still doesn’t excuse poor fundamentals.
Now if Kiffin/Ole Miss did something nefarious to get them, that’s another story. I don’t think they did that though.
Kiffin’s little pregame stunt last night makes me remember the 2009 UT game where they alleged that their headsets were malfunctioning. I think that was a total ploy to get in our staff’s heads.

More shite that was never an issue before 2012

I don't think ole miss changed the play for his wife....

It doesn't matter what happened last night. we still screwed ourselves with playcalling on defense, players not lining up, moses still favoring his knee, Harris stay confused, Secondary forgetting to cover RB and TE time to time.... If I was the coach, I would force the guy to memorize the TE and RB jersey number and stay with them at all. "you see 27? Stay with him. Do not let him pass you by."

Head coach I coached with you used to say “ if he goes to take a shite.... I want you with him”

This.
It's amazing how many of our own fans didn't watch the press conference and are making stupid comments about it.

Kiffin just addressed this on Twitter and said they were calling plays well before the defense was. They weren’t stealing signals. It’s an excuse plain and simple.
