State Record FG Tonight

Kid from Fairhope High School just kicked a 59 yard FG...I think it's a state record. I swear it would have been good from at least 65. I've never seen a kick like that from a high schooler. #84...Freer.
Update: Google was wrong. 60 is the record for a snap and kick. He'd have easily broken it though...the ball cleared the bar by a mile.

Bama under Saban is where kickers go to become headcases. Obviously there are exceptions but we've brought in so many "best kicker in the country" types that turn to dogshit when they get here. I hate to say it, but Let the kid go somewhere (not Auburn) where he can shine.

I'm almost certain that record was set by Michael Proctor - our starting kicker from 1992-1995.

My freshmen year we had the FL record holder kicking... off for us. Banged in a 61 yarder in H.S. Not sure Wiz ever got an xp or fg attempt. A lot of touch backs in 98 and 99 though.

Yep. Proctor set the record and it was tied 5-6 years ago. Even the officials are saying last night's kick would have been good from 70.
This kid currently only has an offer from Army. Recruiting is kind of funny with kickers...seems just a few recruits get scholarships, most walk on and earn a scholarship. Kinda weird considering how important your kicker can be. Maybe this kick will get the kid some more offers.

He is their punter too. They said he had punts of 51 and 50 yds, if I am not mistaken.
