Pardon my shitty phone pics, but times were different with cell phones at the time.

Now that was a pretty awesome place to see a game.. cant wait for these upcoming home and homes.

I know I shouldn’t, but every time I think of Joe Paterno, I just feel sad. On so many levels the situation sucked.

Can y'all imagine the rant melt if we got some of the calls Penn State used to get against us in 80s?

If I remember correctly, they removed it.

On the wall to the right of the statue (if you were facing it), they had a large bronze plaque for each season he had coached there that listed every single game. Lots of Bama on there. I haven't been up there in several years, but I suppose they removed those, as well.

My son and his buddies went. His lasting memory is he could not believe the mess Penn State left on the sideline after the game. I guess being a Bama fan you notice these things

Every big 10 campus I have ever been to, the fans just throw their trash on the ground where they stand. I guess they assume people clean it up. In most sec stadiums fans put their garbage in trash bags at least

I was at that game; actually went to a lot of PSU games when I was living in PA. I have a lot of friends that are PSU grads. State College is great in the early fall; November, not so much.

Now for the trash thing; been there dozens of times and never noticed the garbage thing. Maybe on the sideline they left stuff, but I’ve never seen garbage in the tailgate areas, PSU is pretty strict about clean up in the fan areas.

A large group of PSU fans left the area in front of Little Hall an absolute mess when they came down here in 2010. It was embarrassing for them it was so bad, and I heard they did the same all over campus. That was the only one I saw though.

To their credit though, I did see some of them cleaning it up a little after the game, but there were some Bama fans helping them.

that game left two distinct memories with me:

1 - In the second half Bama is physically whipping PSU at their home and the student body is singing "Sweet Caroline, good times never seemed so good" - I was thinking if Bama was getting their arse handed to them at home, no Bama fan would consider singing Sweet Caroline - big disconnect.

2 - my sons and I flew into Pittsburg and drove over to the campus - saw more pickup trucks with confederate flag tags than you see in AL or MS - unexpected.

For the 2010 game in Tuscaloosa, there were a few Penn State tailgates on the Quad. Trash was everywhere and their fans were awful. Have never seen it like that before. Trash fans from a garbage fanbase.
