Can we go ahead and get the OC search thread stickied somewhere near the top of the board like maybe.... 8th or 9th thread down ? At least in the top ten so we can all find it in a couple minutes search.

It would be nice to have some stability. I can hear the board next January once Sark has had a good year, gets attention, interviews like crazy, takes a job, recruits and builds a staff while we are prepping for playoff games and we end up losing in the final because our offense laid a stinker.

I would lay money that things play out this way. Perhaps we don’t lose the final. However, Sark’s behaviors, coupled with his jump to the NFL a few years back, right after taking our offensive coordinator position, don’t give me tremendous confidence that he is going to think of anything much more than Sark.

As long as these brand named coaches come aboard and we keep winning, Saban's way of keeping some familiarity on the staff will have the same ole intrigue and clandestine-like behavior.

Butch Jones, come on down, you're the next contestant on, "name that coordinator."

@ no one in particular:

I don't get many on this board's obsession with being upset over every little thing regarding the Bama football team. This is an entertainment product, and Alabama is as entertaining as it gets. Granted, it's a competitive entertainment product, so we want to win them all - but you can't win 'em all. But Alabama under Saban wins more than any other program in the sport's modern history, and so we're good there.

Regarding Sark going or staying, what fricking difference does it make? There are hundreds of men across the country we can win a Natty with as OC, and I'm uber confident the GOAT will make sure one of them is our coach, and that he's surrounded by another few who could do it.

And so I ask, why are so many of you so upset all the damn time? That can't be an enjoyable way to be a fan. Are you not entertained?

Was just making light of the most stickied threads in the history of stickied threads.

We should make the entire first page all stickies. If we're gonna go big let's go all the way

I think it makes a difference. I'm certainly not upset or nervous or anything, but I think Coach Saban would rather have Sark here this fall than not. Therefore, that would be the preferred situation.

Do you think Coach would like a do-over on the Colorado opening?

My anger comes from over drinking and my father didn't hug me.

It feels good to share.

You mean the Tucker thing and the domino effect?

Probably not - he's going to push for his guys.

2016, 2018, 2019.

How many of those opportunities for a natty do you think were lost by coaches or player personnel?

You're too intelligent of a guy for that sentence. Its bigtime college football in the south. Of course we care more than we should about the "entertainment" we get from following this football program. It is the biggest show in the state. So yeah, we care a great deal about keeping a coordinator around for more than one freaking year. We can and will win big with the next guy but there are obvious advantages to keeping the staff together not to mention some of these kids wouldn't even be here without Steve.

Like was the coaching bad or some direct coaching move?

2016 is the only direct coaching move but if we got Washington game Kiffin vs Clemson I don't think it's any different.

If we are talking coaching changes..... Pruitt took a head coaching job at Tennessee. Not sure what the alternative is supposed to be there? I don't think Daboll or Locks leaving had much if any negative effect. So mainly it's just the defensive side.

Saban, on the phone with Colorado right now:

"Buffs, have I got a guy for you... His name is Butch and he will have your boys Life Champions in no time at all!"

Not really a bad idea, since many of the regular threads on this board are just about as crappy as this one is.

I prefer Sark too, but him interviewing for the Colorado job doesn't move my emotional needle one iota. I literally don't care. Sark could die in an avalanche tonight, and our offense will still be awesome next year.

Furthermore, regular coaching change has become the rule at Alabama, not the exception. I don't like it and I hope it is curtailed soon, but getting upset about a constant is the definition of wasting time.

My point is that Sark interviewed, and it is not worth getting upset over. If he leaves, such is life. It won't be worth getting upset over. I'll be excited for the next man up.

Maybe it's because I'm an optimist. I personally expect to win everything I do, and do win most stuff. I expect Alabama to do the same, and I expect it to win its next coordinator hire just like it won its last one.
