F positivity. I hope my negativity and downvote ruins your thread.

Great win tonight though. Hopefully it’s still a Quad 1 win in March.

I'll say this is the best team we've had in over a decade, and Avery built this team.

On the other hand, there's no excuse for it not be at least 14-4 (4-2), looking to comfortably make the tournament, and a high seed in Nashville.

Are we really going to find a better coach and see anything different?

Our basketball program is just like every bad relationship I've ever been in. A series of small redemptions contained within a shell of abject failure.

Yes. Avery is not a good coach.

Do not Fire Coach Avery Johnson....Yet Thread

FIFY. Think we jumped up in NET ranking after the Tennessee game, and certainly after last night's win over Ole Miss. Team should be 14-4 right now, but they're not. However, they're still in great position to make the tournament. So there shouldn't be any excuse for another late-season collapse like we've seen every single year under Avery. Last year's 5-game losing streak was inexcusable with a lottery pick.

I mean, we could be 15-3 if things had gone slightly better in certain games, but we could also be 8-10 if one or two plays go the other way. We've won quite a few nail biters.

Gotta let the rest of the season play out. If we get through this next stretch of five games 4-1, I will feel like we are trending in the right direction. Anything less and it just feels like we're stagnating.

Avery is a good coach. Some fans have unrealistic expectations for our success. I can't say that I am disappointed in our season thus far. A lot of season left.

Right now, I rank him about a 6/10. Could gradually move up over time, or stall out.

Time will tell.

It is hard for us since we are used to the standard of our football program. That standard was cultivated for almost a hundred years. Alabama Basketball does not have that foundation to build off of. We aren't going to be a basketball powerhouse until we have maintained success for a period of time.

I'm not sure that Avery is the best coach that we could possibly get. I am sure that he is far from the worst and when you see sports programs constantly fire decent coaches because of unrealistic expectations, it rarely works out for them.

As long as the wheels aren't falling off and we don't have a home-run replacement, I dont want to see us make the gamble.

Sorry I'm still not buckled after that collapse at TN.

He has a chance to win me back but he will have to finish the season really strong.

I don't think expecting two tourney appearances in four years is asking much.
