After review, Jones was able to spike the ball with one second left on the clock to allow the Tide field goal unit to try a 52-yarder just before halftime. Reichard made it, which was the first 50-yard field goal for Alabama since the 2015 Iron Bowl. The sophomore placekicker also made a 33-yarder earlier in the second quarter and was 5-for-5 on extra points. Through the first four games, Reichard is perfect on his field-goal (4-4) and PAT (26-26) attempts.

Five years of not making a 50 yard FG.

I mean, extra points had me on the edge of my seat the last few years

Been saying it since last year, Reichard will be fine

Hard to make a 50-yarder when you don't try them. From 2016 to 2019 (four seasons), we attempted THREE total FGs of more than 50 yards. Joe Bulovas was 0-1 and JK Scott was 0-2.

Saban knew it wasn't even worth trying.

How many against us? And what percentage?

I'm just gonna guess 10 of 12 against us of 50+ yarders over the past 4 years

I mean, to be fair, it’s not like we needed to make that many field goals the way our offense was playing
