That is clearly not what Saban is saying there.

BS,thats crazy. Lia would have been offered. He has a strong arm, and good legs. If he does enter the portal, he will get many offers. John Parker Wilson said it this morning. Lia had the entire play book when he was in the game. But JPW said going from Hoover to Alabama was like night and day. Just getting the terminology down takes a while. Wilson said they would starting telling him stuff, and I didnt have a clue what they were talking about. I think the biggest thing with Lia is just coaching some of the high school wildness out of him. He has to understand he cant do things he could get away with in high school.

You guys never fail me on this board. When has Saban ever came out and said anyone was better or suggested they’d start as a freshman in the offseason?

it only took 14 games and total desperation before Saban gave Tua a chance. Its really about trust. Reports were that he was just making a few bad mistakes in practice. Trying to make heroic plays. And, for some reason, they dont like the QB doing that.

Im not even an Alabama fan and i can tell you 100% that mac jones will start and if you cant see that then you need to trade teams.

Yes ill bet mac jones will start against USC barring injury. What would you like to lose?

I’m sure the plan is to start three star Mac Jones over the top qb recruit in the country, hopefully Young doesn’t transfer when he learns that he just doesn’t have the talent to unseat Mac.

Sarcasm (on) off

I love Mac but the question isn’t if Young starts this year but when. That is unless he is just a total bust like Blake Barnett was, which I dont think will be the case at all.

Very glad we have Mac anyway, as we have seen the last few years having a very good backup is very important.

I think next year we’re going to see Mac Jones, and a whole lot of Najee, Sanders and Robinson. With the Running backs so deep, and an experienced QB, I don’t see Saban going balls out and playing a freshmen, when there is no real need.

As far as relying on the run game we can do the same thing with Bryce Young who is more talented. Even if both are equal next year why not go with Young who has a much higher ceiling?

Mac Jones has three games more experience than Young it’s not like Mac has been out starting qb for two seasons.
