Saw him talking about the Seniors coming out of the tunnel and he actually got chocked up. Never seen that from him before. Kind of has me worried. This today and the jokes about the pants with the holes in them makes me think he might be ready to hang it up. Please tell me I am wrong.

Why because he loves his job and gets attached to the kids? It's not a bad thing. Nick will retire from Bama in probably 6-10 years.

I try not to think about Saban ever retiring. I know it's going to happen eventually and could at any season I guess.

Me and most other fans are not fully appreciating what he's doing. We take contending for the national championship every single year as a given. Bama fans need to savor and appreciate what we have going because it is not normal and will not continue forever.

Saban can't just retire and enjoy life like many of us. He loves what he does and I firmly believe he will do it until he can't.
What more could we ask for. We are blessed beyond belief. So much so other teams are firing coaches that have no hope of getting a Saban clone.

Because "There can be only one" and we got him.

PS- Immortal.

I didn't mean this in a negative way at all. I thought it was awesome to see him show how much he really cares. It was some time after that I got to thinking about it a little more and started wondering about what it might mean. I tend to read more into things than I should.

I am overly blessed with the Tide. I have gotten to be a part of the two greatest coaches to ever walk the sidelines. And I have loved every damn minute of it!

He may be having the most fun he's ever had. Maybe that explains it.

I don't think it's a retiring soon thing. But yeah I was kinda shocked, seemed he nearly lost it at the presser. He does seem to be a little different this year. He has been smiling a lot more than usual. Almost as if he is actually having fun this season.

I'm only three years younger than Saban. As you get older like us, you appreciate what's truly important even more. That's the change your seeing in him.

Saban has said more than once that he wants to keep coaching at Bama as long as his health permits and he remains successful at it.

Don't worry. Be happy.

Also, for any lip readers out there. I would really love to know what he said to the Mercer coach after the game when smiled and held up 2 fingers while shaking his hand.

Saban’s a great man. We’re watching greatness. He would have excelled in anything he tried.

Something like “we didn’t want to score those last 2 TDs.”

theres no doubt that cns is mellowing out. you can tell that by watching his sideline demeanor. i'm thinking cns is exactly like every other older great coach that has ever been. health and an ability to continue recruiting at a high level are the 2 primary barometers on his retirement date. jmo

think you're wrong.

seeing emotion and empathy for his players only shows that saban has matured and gained wisdom as a coach and as a person. do not think he has given up on "the process" or his high standards.

He likes the players so much that he's choked up they're graduating. This shows he is ready to move on from his job.

What kind of logic is that?
