Lets put things into perspective. Saban chose an up and comer to try to achieve staff continuity rather than hiring a big dollar DC. That was a bad move and we all know it now. Hell, Saban knows it too. I know we had a lot of injuries on the defensive side but we are a program that prides itself on progress being made on both sides of the ball during the season. We saw no improvement on the defensive side of the ball. None. In fact, we saw the same issues issues of missed assignments and penalties all season long.

Saban made 2 straight bad hires/promotions/whatever you want to call it. At defensive co-ordinator. His baby.

Also - DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR IS NOT OUR ONLY ISSUE. The lack of discipline stuff is a core program issue. Those problems are on offense and defense. We're weak. We're soft. We talk shite to other teams, stuff we never did before.

DC is a problem, but acting like it's a quick fix and we're good is just not true

Back-to-back terrible DC hires. It sucks to keep losing the big name coordinators year after year, but what’s the difference if we just keep having to fire the up-and-comer hires at the end of every season.

No. A lack of discipline in the program would be guys getting arrested. We have very little of that. What we is a lot of injuries coupled with high staff turnover and some bad hires. A good coach will clean up the issues with the OL getting false starts. Dickerson's snap count is an issue. And, a good coach will clean up substitution issues with the defense.

Tosh wasn't a bad promotion. Tosh was key for recruiting. Plus, Tosh didn't call more than half of the games last season. This is all about the Golding hire and how bad it is.

Unfortunately it goes a lot deeper. There are cracks in the foundation of this program and they are spreading.

Alright, I’m going to call you on this. Be very specific as to exactly what is going wrong within the program, and say exactly how you know this. None of this cryptic BS.

I have no idea. I don't pretend to know how to create a championship level football program.

But it's clear that right now we are not solidly build from the inside out. Maybe it's just a bad batch of players, maybe it's injuries, maybe the inside is crumbling. I don't know.

But I know that it's clearly a program issue, not just a defensive co-ordinator issue (that is an issue too).

He’s made multiple, repeated bad hires that all led to the crossroads he’s at regarding his program’s identity.

The penalties were terrible this year.

But honestly this might the worst defense since 2007. It is going to take a new coordinator and some players. It won't be fixed overnight

No, a lack of discipline in a football sense is what we put on the field this season. I'm not sure how anyone can even try to argue this.

How are we not built solidly from the inside out? Our OL and DL recruiting is great. What are you talking about? I think you're just bitching and I'm trying my damndest to find some substance in your comments but I cannot.

But will Saban keep him for purposes of staff continuity or will he get rid of him?

You are talking about physical attributes and traits for some reason.

I'm talking about mental things. Things we used to DOMINATE. We don't dominate them anymore, we're actually DEFICIENT in them.

Those are the reasons we were what we were. Great players, sure, but other teams had those. We were machines. We were mentally unshakable. That is GONE.

1. Getting schooled tonight by a high school coach in the last two minutes of game time.
2. Bama has tolerated several YEARS of pitiful kicking and special teams play.
3. Allowing ridiculous play calls like the pick six that should have been a Najee run.
4. Not challenging plays that are clearly questionable.
5. Lack of discipline (multiple illegal procedure/offsides penalties and 13 penalties IN ONE GAME).

And, that lack of discipline is a reflection of the coaching. Hell, I have said from my first post in this thread that Saban made a bad hire in Golding.

But, I'm not about to sit around and let some mangina tell me Saban is over the hill because he made a bad hire. If we follow your logic, I guess Ed Orgeron is the best thing since sliced bread because he hired Joe Brady. FOH. Saban made a bad hire and it will be corrected.

I think Golding is gone.
