This is why the playoffs should be pushed back 2 weeks. I’m sure a lot of teams are doing this.

12 days until the game.

3 days off for Christmas.

Notre Dame isn't, per Kelly's interview

Don't think there is a right or wrong, and this once again destroys the mean ole Saban narrative, but there is some risk there.

Say what you will.. but the GOAT has gotten softer in his old age.. ND is staying in a bubble. I'm really shocked by this move from Saban, but after watching the defense and the mental mistakes it doesn't surprise me. Thank God for our Offense, hope they don't get Covid. We should destroy ND and this game is perfect for getting our O-line ready

Good. They earned it, need it and will be careful.

Honestly, I'm not concerned. The kids have been on campus all fall and around God only knows whom. They could have been going out and doing whatever all fall. I have all the confidence in the world that Saban will have all the appropriate conversations and that they will buy in and take all the appropriate precautions.

He said they had conversations and specific instructions for the families during the last bye week, which is interesting, but not surprising.

Just like Holden did right.. ? Riding around with a LSU player.. lets not forget these are kids. I know its a balance between mental health and such.. Its a tough call. I personally would keep the bubble going, but Saban is around the team more and they may need a break. I trust he knows whats best for the team..But I have no faith in a 18-21 year old to be responsible about who they are around.. especially Christmas. I know black families during the holidays as I am one.. We flock like zombies..

Think Saban has learned over the years that you can't push these guys too much for these types of games. Treat it like any other game and don't overwhelm them.

Plus think it's better for the players mental state

Agreed - he clearly thinks it's a risk worth taking and his kids need it.

I don't question him in these sorts of matters.

These guys sacrifice a lot. Mandating they miss the holidays completely doesn’t seem right to me. Hopefully it works out.

Staff will video chat with all families before releasing the kids.

Out of all the things that can beat us. I'd rather kids spend time with families during the holidays than to play a game.

I will say the CFP lack of flexibility with dates is bullshite if we care about Student Athletes.

I’m with coach on this one. The kids should be able to be with their families on Christmas. He’s talked constantly about the unity of this team, and everyone being on the same page. If he trusts them to do what they need to do, that’s good enough for me.

Pretty much all of this. I’d rather our guys get to spend time with their loved ones at Christmas.

Did the team have a problem after thanksgiving? Didn’t they go home then too?
