I think a better comparison would be the timeline where Manziel isn't a colossal train wreck of a human being. Elite athleticism, but supremely overrated as a passer. If he hadn't been such a frick up the media would have rubbed themselves raw over him though. They wanted to desperately until he basically ran himself out of football. Even then, he's probably more on the level of a guy like Josh Allen or Russell Wilson in terms of athleticism. He wasn't out there running a 4.35 or anything.

I think that maybe more accurate and even then I don't think Manziel's athleticism was working in the NFL like it did in college.

Agreed that was not the right wording. Lamar is a modern day Vick as a runner but the point remains that he's not an accurate passer. Mahomes is the total package of athlete and passer when healthy. You saw his game take a nosedive when he was banged up at the end of last year. It will be interesting to see who lasts the longest. Mahomes and Jackson are great athletes but are prone to injury because they take more hits.

I don’t doubt some of this goes on but I have a hard time seeing BB not playing the best option.
Mac took some time here and when he understood everything perfectly he shined. Even if all this was true I still believe he has the fortitude to overcome and actually think it would “fuel his fire.”

I fricking knew the Greeks were taking over. First it was Gyros and then they introduced Greek yogurt. It’s all a plot for total world domination, one gyro at a time.

I still think that Lamar being inaccurate, especially relative to rest of the NFL is an overstatement though. He was 8th in completion percentage, tied with Russell Wilson (who no one calls inaccurate) in 2019 at 66% and he dropped to the mid 20s last year but the percentage was still 64%. He has issues with some vertical throws especially outside the hashes but overall he isn't like a Drew Lock who is actually inaccurate relative to his peers. There are only 7 or 8 elite passers in the league as a whole at any given time so with his stats I think he is being judged harshly. He is solid and needs to improve for sure but he also adds an element with his legs that is almost impossible to prepare for. Looking at the rest of the league there is no way he should be questioned as a top 15 NFL QB.
@Cobrasize. I have always been suspicious of them after I got a whole pepper in my Greek salad.

Yeah and while Mahomes has GOAT level skill he also got to throw the ball to at least four WRs better than anything Lamar threw to last season.
I don't even care to defend Lamar like that; however it's an exaggeration that he is very poor with accuracy and it's actually a crime his organization surrounded him with second rate receiving talent.
If Miami did that to Tua, Philly to Hurts or Bill did that to Mac Jones we would have fits on here.

I suspect Belicheck will make the correct evaluation.

I don't really think it's New England fans. I think is left wing agitators and black racists protecting CAM, just like those who are trying to shiit all over Tebow in honor of Kaepernick.

The agenda is everywhere, I see it every day! The fans, media, Harvard intellectuals and Patriot’s owner all of them. It is so obvious. Belichick wanted Cam out after last year! The local and national media, New England fans and Kraft's rapper friends kept him for their own reasons. Cam has endorsements from Greek local businesses and a pizza place out of Connecticut which also influenced Kraft! The echo chamber is nuts. The fans up here talk about Cam as a more well-dressed Larry Bird. They talk about Stidham like he is Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas rolled into one and they call Hoyer little Flutie. It is crazy cause they are also talking about getting rid of Stidham and/or Hoyer for Tavarus Jackson, Deshone Kizer or Willie Beaman. Meanwhile the fans and radio host are calling Mac, MacDorkle Jones on air and saying they should have signed Jamie Newman. It is so out of wack up here and it has nothing or everything to do with ball.

I’m trying to read a lot of the posts in this thread as satire. If not, holy hell. Some of y’all need to take a step or four back from the internet.

Bill will determine who starts at QB on his team regardless to what the SJW media prints.
The MSM kissed the azz of Fields and Lance as the best ever.

I worry some of you believe what you post. Mac was a first round draft pick and will get his shot. JayZ and the Greeks run the show in New England? Lol

Did you watch any of the NFL Live shows leading up to the draft? If you did and deny they did their best to down Mac then you're not truthful.

It's not just national media, it is in the building! Since the Brady debacle Kraft has been involved in football decisions like never before. That is why they had Patricia come back. The news Jay-Z was in Watertown with Kraft at alistening party for some new music, which is the Greek Corner. Jay-Z was heavily pushing Cam and Stidham because in part Beyonce's cousin went to Auburn. People are really nervous about Belichick staying. Meanwhile some of the radio stations are calling Mac "Truffle Shuffle" Jones and tweeting his shirtless pick. They act like Cam is Ted Williams, Stidham is Cousey and Russell combined and Hoyer is John Hannah. On top of that some people are wishing they drafted Felipe Franks. Madness. And with all the Stidham talk some still think they are looking to replace him as backup with Tyrod Taylor, Geno Smith, or Jimmy Dix. The infiltration into the media local and national is obvious.
