Ravens extend contract offer to Mark Ingram
LINK

quote:

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Baltimore has offered a contract to RB Mark Ingram.

The eight-year veteran isn’t a bad option for the Ravens as his skill in both the rushing and receiving games compliment perfectly. Also, Ingram’s game as aged rather well as he’s never had a season over 240 carries [PFR]. For reference, Le’Veon Bell has produced 240+ carry seasons in four seasons, with 2017 going for an astonishing 321 rushes [PFR].

As I mentioned, Ingram’s game has only grown in recent years. In his first five seasons, he never eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards, though he came close in 2014 (964). But in his last three seasons, Ingram has broken 1,000 rushing yards twice. He’s also become a threat in the receiving game with 905 yards and five touchdowns in the past three seasons.

I hope he goes. People in New Orleans don't appreciate him.

I believe Mark would take less money to stay with the Saints. Wish him all the best. He has class and is a solid citizen.

All for it. Ravens need a solid RB, especially if they can get him without taking too much of a hit to the pocketbook.

Yes they do. Only a small portion of the fans don’t.

Shouldn't you be for Marks pocketbook rather than Ravens?
After all he played for your school, won our first Heisman and a National Championship all for a scholarship.

Just asking.

I wouldn't say 80% of the LSU fanbase is a small portion of the Saints fanbase, but I'm no math expert.

Just because a guy went to Alabama doesn't mean you should want your NFL team to frick their salary cap situation just to make sure he makes more money.

Looks like CJ Mosley is signing with the Jets. 85 million total/58 million guaranteed.

HaHa will go too - no room for him now. That is two Bama Ravens gone. You may see more.

It’s not like I’m saying the Ravens should pay the bare minimum. But just because Mark played at Alabama doesn’t mean I think the Ravens should overpay for him. The Ravens have a lot of pieces to replace that they’re going to have to pay big money to replace.

Most of the LSU fans that are actually Saints fans are fine with Ingram. The rant isn’t the best indicator of how LSU fans really are.

I am sorry but I certainly want our players to get paid whatever they can get.Billionaire owned NF L teams can worry about their finances. My loyalty and empathy always with our former players first and foremost. They bust their asses and put life and limb on the line plus have short uncertain careers in most cases. My only complaint would be about guys who check out right after signing huge contracts. A la Rolando.

I think Ingram is like 50 yards away from being the Saints all time leading rusher. I sort of want him to stay in New Orleans to get that record, one he'll probably have forever considering how rushing is so de-emphasized in today's modern NFL.
