LINK

Embedded in the link are 8 of his gem fiery rants. I enjoyed all of these, and I'd like to share them with you.

Best post of the day.

....without looking I know the "shite through a tin horn" rant has got to be up there

What pisses me off about the coverage of his rants is that nobody in the media (or on Internet forums) ever really breakdown the points Saban is ranting about. It's always "Saban goes on another rant" instead actually discussing the subject matter he's bringing up. Lost in most of these rants are some great points he raises about the landscape & politics of college football. Even when he's advocating for something on behalf of the players, everyone just runs to the lazy talking point that Saban melts or Saban is a jerk.

Maybe that's on Saban since he should know by now how the media will react to his rants and maybe he should find a more effective method to be an advocate on these issues, but it's something we see across sports and politics. People don't like to process what they hear anymore.

End Rant.

Was actually talking to my friends about that exact point. Of course journalists aren't going to point out facts. Just want incendiary headlines and click bait.

This new rule restricting high school coaches access sounds very dumb. A lot of high school guys don't even have a way to get to these camps or practices without their coach.

Not only is it lazy but everyone should realize by now that Saban's press conferences are theater. It's his stage and he is the star. He uses his bully pulpit to telegraph his messages to the fans, players, and NCAA.

can anything really top comparing a loss to 9/11? I mean, it's not a rant, but it's the one time I've heard a coach do a press conference and felt.... man, he wants to win... like really really badly.

He said that the atmosphere among Alabama fans after the loss was like Pearl Harbor or 9/11. It was actually him saying that the fans were overreacting. The way it became "Saban said losing is like 9/11" is an example of the hot takes that people above are talking about.
