I want BROB back too but the idea of a Sanders/Jase/Roydell three headed monster supplemented by a KRob/Camar Wheaton home run back setup is really enticing to me.

The running back room is stupid deep

The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is the OL. Do we think Chris Owens returns? I think it'd be wise for him to do so, as he'll have a real shot to get drafted next year as a full-time starter. I also think it'd be wise for BRob to come back.

I don't think we know. The OL will definitely having some growing paints. Getting Neal and EE back is a big help, though, and we have a bunch of guys in the program who are talented and are experienced with the scheme.

Let's get Stoutland back for long enough to train our currently deep and talented OL room into a bunch of All Americans but send him back to the NFL before he can recruit C-USA backups to replace them.

I'm really interested to see how this goes. I am going to speculate that if he has finished or will finish undergrad he is gone. When he came up to the northeast for HS from Florida the unsubstantiated rumor was he is good kid who loves football but doesn't like to "play school" all that much.
I think he would come back for a year if it could get him a first round grade, but he seems like being a 2-3 round guy may be his ceiling. I hope he comes back and proves me wrong, gets that first round grade and a masters .

Yea, this is definitely a 2015 level re-start at WR. Except instead of 1 great incoming WR option (Calvin), we have about 4. And, I think our talent on campus right now is better than it was then.
The difference now though is the offense is made for WRs incoming freshman who can succeed in it. Assuming the new OC continues with a similar scheme.

First time in a while though that I think... do we have that alpha at WR
I still don't get why people don't see Metchie as the next Alpha. He had over 900 yards on 55 catches as the 3rd option part of the year and playing on one leg for another part. If he is healthy Metchie is a problem.

Agree, But as Ive posted multiple times if I am DC in the NFL.I move jobe to safety were he always see things in front of him..I think he would make a good safety assigned to TE's, run support in the NFL..
I will say coming back with another yr to improve burst under our New S/C coaches would help him with his turn(hips) and run..!

2011 is properly the most comparable, I'd think
- new QB
- new RB (though he had more experience than our 2021 group)
- lost #1 alpha WR
- lost 2 OL
Also pretty comparable on the defensive side, as well.
That's true, but the RB was Trent Richardson. He has played significantly the two seasons before and had started games already. I always considered Ingram and Richardson as co-starters.
Bama doesn't have a RB on the roster for next year that has near the stats or experience that Richardson had going into the 11 season.

Agreed - but I think of all the spots where a kid can easily step in and play as long as they are physically ready, it's running back.
And we have a full stable of those guys. Which is good.

We are losing a lot of leadership from this team as well, not just stats/production.
Who do you think will fill those shoes next year? We have a ton of talent as always but talent alone won't win us tShip again next year w/out the likes of a LD/Najee/Smitty/Mac/Leatherwood/Barmore set of alphas.

Excellent point - and that was one of the biggest keys for this team compared to some other ones.

I dunno, but we'll need some guys, because it's clearly something all our of great teams had and all of our good but not quite great teams didn't.

Battle in the secondary. Moody as I expect him to start Mike, Harris or Allen or one of the 20 year seniors McMillon and Davis.
Obviously Bryce, Trey if healthy, Tennison, Neal, Ekiyor, Owen if he stays, Metchie, Slade and Xavier.

This is why I see next year as a "maturing" year. Probably still competitive enough to win the SEC if the ball bounces right (and at that point you're likely in the playoffs). Not sure they'll truly be contenders for the national championship.
Sometimes you have to lose in order to learn how to win big.

I do feel like as hungry/angry as BRob is, IF he comes back, he might be one of our driving forces as well as Will Anderson as they both have the "lead by action" genes but do they have as big of vocal genes as those leaving us did?

I think how far we go next year will boil down to Bryce Young and the Oline.
Skill guys at receiver are alot easier to replace with young guys than lineman and defensive players.
And we have running backs that can produce if the line is good, they just need to be able to pass block.

I think B-Rob coming back would be huge. I wasnt sold on him earlier in the season because he just didnt seem to have that fire a running back needs to be successful but man was I wrong. Idk how vocal he is but his playing style and the tenacity he runs with I think would make him a good candidate to replace some of the alphas we are losing.
Regardless our running back room is loaded with talent but having that veteran leadership is irreplaceable
