What do you guys think we’ll see this Saturday?
Personally, I think it’s gonna be an ugly ground and pound game that may be uncomfortably close like Tennessee. I really hope Mac Jones is as good as Saban thinks he is, but he’s never impressed me much.
We’re gonna need our defense to step up big time in this game, possibly creating some turnovers.

I’m expecting a run-heavy offense. I’d feel a lot more confident with Taulia at QB, but I think we’ll only see him if Arkansas is actually beating us, which I don’t think will happen - at least I hope not.

OR Mac could come out and light it the frick up, and we blow Arkansas out. That would be awesome!

Not a big Mac Jones fan either.

But Imma guess over 200yds rushing and Mac has around 200-250yds passing.

38-17 type game IMO

I think we're going to see an offense that looks pretty much like it has all season. The strength of the offense is the receivers and though the o-line has improved run blocking their strength all season has been pass pro. Mac's been running the same offense all year in practice that Tua has. They're not all of the sudden going to completely retool it now. Just my opinion though.

I agree with RollTide33.....this year Tua has checked down a lot more and thrown underneath. Taking what the defense gives him. That may be a little more difficult, because Mac is probably not as much a deep threat as Tua is. I suspect they will stick with the same gameplan and if the safety's cheat up we will see Mac try and go deep. No doubt the receivers can get behind the DB's....the question is, will Mac and the receivers be in sync.

Would hope this is the game we lean heavily on Harris and Robison more to set up 3rd and manageable to keep the defense off balanced. Think McElwain's game plan vs Auburn in 2011 was brilliant because he utilized Brad Smelley in the flat and made it easy for McCarron to build confidence.

Arkansas is ranked 100th in rush defense, so yeah, run da bawl.

I don't see where we have to change a thing. It's not like Tua was a threat in the zone-read game since he got dinged up last year. That component of the offense has been eliminated from the offense for a while. Tua's been a pocket style QB for almost his entire stint as starter, so no radical changes necessary for Mac.

Think he will have a decent day but the YAC will be down bc he is not used to the RPOs and timing will be slightly off with the receivers . Not sure iof Jeudy’s status either

I think YAC will be down too. Tua’s timing and accuracy on these shorts throws is maybe the best Ever. He sets his guys up for the massive YAC

I am worried about timing on RPO as well and hoping it does not cause our Wr to get hung out or injured trying to make a play on a ball. But hopefully this weeks practice helps them get a rhythm going with Mac.
This is that moment for Mac and he just needs to be solid based on the opponent this wnkd.
But Lsu if he still at the 1st team unit will require he makes some big game plays.

We need some explosive plays and turnovers if we want this to be your typical blowout.

I don’t have any real confidence in Mac Jones to command the offense with efficiency.

Probably 90% struggle and 10% out-of-nowhere smoothness, with some of that 10% being pretty impressive. And yeah, I'd be surprised if it isn't more run-heavy, or, at least, if it doesn't transition to being more run-heavy fairly quickly.

"Struggle" being a relative word here, comparing this offense to what we're used to. I still think we win easily, of course.

If anyone saw what the barners did to the razorbacks last game it should be obvious. They ran through, around, over the piggies.

It's back to the future.

Yeah, the weather forecast looks horrible. Doubt we'll be airing it out on offense.

Controlling the ball in his hands...Mac holds the ball a little closer to the point than Tua. The difference is likely hand size. That could be an issue with a wet ball.

Holding the ball closer to the point is good for deep throws but provides a little less control/touch on quicker throws.

Mac has a higher release point... the longer arc makes his release a little slower than Tua's but helps with getting the ball over the tall OL.

The biggest factors will likely be the speed of releases, the precision of placement, and the timing with WR's. Those 3 issues will likely cut down on YAC and increase the likelihood of hits on WR's after the catch.

With an improved running game, I expect Mac to have 2 or 3 really good play action deep shots, we just have to hope his timing with the WR's gets the ball in their hands rather than over throws.

I've actually seen some of Mac Jones' last few starts in person... not anxious to return to the mcleroy years. Definitely gives us an opportunity to pound on the o line, possibly instill some fear of our rushing attack.

If its wind and rain, there wont be a lot of scoring. If there is just a drizzle without wind, throw the ball. We will probably try 6 field goals and make one or two. But number 10 will get to play on special teams and block another punt and score himself. And thats with only three players rushing the punter.

I don't think you see that much change to be quite honest. Weather may dictate more the plays rather than the QB.

It won't be as explosive, but the play calling will likely be the same. Maybe slightly more run-heavy, but they're going to let Mac throw the ball. Our receivers are too good not to get the ball to them.

From what I've seen of him, I think Mac throws a nice ball. Making reads, and getting the ball out quickly will be his challenge.
