I think this rides on the AU game honestly.

I'm convinced the committee just makes shite up as they go along.

The Playoff Committee is a democracy of 13 people who are tasked with "choosing the best 4 teams" in CFB. While they are given guidelines for how to go about forming their opinions and rankings, each member has quite a bit of latitude regarding which things are more important to them. Some members prioritize loss strength, others prioritize win strength, some fancy eye test, some prefer body of work while others prefer how good a team is at the end of the year. Simply put, each person finds his/her own way to his/her ranking inside of a framework, and the members themselves change over time as well.

And so yes, the committee was never meant to function robotically. It's a group if different individuals ranking who they think is "best."

Furthermore, and many fans don't realize this, they rerank each team after every week as if it is new. New week, clean slate, nobody ranked anywhere at the beginning of the discussion. And they only evaluate what evidence has been presented up to that point - the future is not considered in any way. Giving theoretical points based on a theoretical future game result is forbidden by structure in the committee. And so for example, a team with a back-loaded schedule has much more ability to move up in November than a team with a front-loaded schedule, and conversely some teams can be ranked high early do to a front-loaded schedule, but get passed up by teams as the year goes on. No team has any spot locked from week to week - it's a new ranking from scratch every week.

All in all, the committee has done a fine job. And it may be their job to leave us out this year.

UGA beats A&M, LSU in a competitive game, which is possible with LSU's lack of defense, Bama & Oregon are both out.

If their passing game continues to grow with improved WR play, and they get healthy on the Oline, GA can play with and beat anybody.

UGA runs Swift & Herrien 80% of the time against that flag football tackling defense, control the clock, they got a chance.

Who does Ga have at wide receiver that can beat you? Fromm is over rated and has been figured out.

Everyone has a chance of beating anyone on any given day. But it still isnt happening

LSU is probably going to win but it’s crazy to think UGA doesn’t have a shot

4 days ago 4-7 Ole Miss had over 600 yards of offense, 400 yards rushing against LSU.
Swift like Najee & Pumlee will easily gash that defense. Defensive front worn down & exposed.

I love how everyone holds up that Ole Miss game as an example of LSUs defense. Yes, their defense is weak but that game didn’t occur in a vacuum. LSU coming off an emotional and physical game that was their SuperBowl with Alabama. They were flat and didn’t consider Ole Miss a threat. Ole Miss gashed Bama too.

LSU will blow UGA out of Atlanta

LSU 41 UGA 24

And UGA gonna love the underdawg, no one giving them a chance to win the game role.

The rankings are completely meaningless at this point.

EXACTLY what I’ve been saying!
If we come out and really impress vs Auburn, we keep our playoff streak alive.

Honestly, if we just manage to make the playoffs, and lose our first game in a respectable loss, I’d be satisfied with the season. As long as we don’t get blown out

I think losing in the first round of the playoffs would be better than winning some outsider bowl game. The playoffs is great program exposure win/lose

Tbh though, Mac Jones would have to have the game of his life for us to have any chance vs OSU, Clemson, or LSU.
Not saying it’s impossible though...

Agree - we just need to play our best ball and see what happens.

Outside of chaos happening and us being left out we don't have a right to be angry about anything.
