Our offense still hasn’t answered any questions

Somehow we are on to the final despite no semblance of a consistent passing game, overall baffling playcalling, and a lack of identity on that side of the football. Did we do anything to lay to rest these concerns? It seems like our defense balling out has once again masked our recurring deficiencies on the offensive side of the ball. If that’s enough to win it all, so be it, but it just feels like we are so close to the precipice of being unstoppable offensively.

I thought our offensive gameplan in the 1st half was very good. We were in 3rd and shorts the entire half. We ran the ball wide. We threw high percentage throws. We kept them off balance. If Jalen had made good throws we would have been up 17-3.

The 2nd half was pretty blah/awful.

Much improved running identity. Don't forget, Clemson had the supposed best front 7 in CFB.
Passing game is still pedestrian.

Jalen was 16-24, foster dropped one, the rest were throwaway Bcz the offensive line didn't bother to block. He hit Ridley on 2 nice throws and stood in pocket and hit ruggs on third down. I doubt any QB this yr completed 66 percent with 2 TDS and 0 ints against Clemson. He's doing what he's asked and it still isn't good enough for some, just as I anticipated. I love all these guys and it was a great TEAM win in every sense .

It would make things so much easier if we had a quarterback that could pass. I mean we have this completely dominant defense and decent oline and all these tremendous running backs, but we’re hell bent on playing a qb who cannot pass.

I will never understand that.

I mean Clemson stuck around for three quarters with 100 total yards offense. It’s crazy and I don’t understand what Coach is thinking.

When the defense is healthy and dominant Bama simply doesn't need much at the QB position to compete and win championships most years. Guys like Cam Newton and Deshaun Watson are program changing guys who are rare. Hurts is enough to likely beat UGA. But, if Oklahoma had a bit more defense and were playing this Bama team we would likely have to ask Hurts to do more or play Tua.

It's an absolute blessing but also a bit of a curse, but the level of individual talent we bring in, makes it almost impossible for us to be terrible enough for wholesale changes to be dire. Even when we're off and making mistakes, we survive or at least stay competitive. Our short comings haven't resulted in a blow outs in ages.

Georgia isn't beating us , plain and simple. Jalen may not be Tom Brady but his experience showed tonight over the great Kelly Bryant (sarcasm). He's doing what he's asked to do and it's fricking unreal the level of stupid that's posted on here abt him. He throws 2 TDS with 0 picks and makes 3rd down throws against that defense tonight and still some of u bitch line little girls. Enjoy the win and be proud .

I like Jalen and I wish him the best, but anyone with 2 eyes and some knowledge of football could see that he struggled tonight. Some of it was due to the pressure, but other times he just didn't make good decisions, bailing out of the pocket instead of stepping up, messing up the exchange with Damien, etc. He also struggled with his accuracy, like with the pass to Ridley.

I'm starting to think that Hurts isn't the right QB for this OL, just like Bo isn't the right RB for this OL. They need guys back there than can make good, quick decisions. Neither Jalen nor Bo have shown that ability much this year.

I think Jalen left shite on the field, not the best passer but we put two TDs and had a miss FG against a team that gives up 12.9 points a game.

Amen to that.
Jalen looked no different tonight than he did vs. Auburn. The only difference is he was never asked to do anything because of the tremendous defensive play. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why we were playing an injured Bo 40% of the snaps. What in the absolute frick was that about?

I mean sometimes winning doesn't feel great and that's how i feel right now. The offense was still painful to watch all game long, to the point of making it unenjoyable. We would've won by 40 if our offense was clicking. It reminds me of how I felt after beating Washington last year. We won in spite of our QB

Agreed, I mean Jalen, a sophomore, may not be a world beater, but it can and has been worse... I think Brodie Croyle's mangled corpse is still underneath Jordan Hare.

Not necessarily. Jalen always bounces deep and wide, making it easy for edge rushers to disengage and chase. Then we'll have numerous comments on here about how our OL pass protection stinks. If he would step up in the pocket you'd be amazed how much better our tackles look on pass pro. Jalen's pocket awareness makes Coker look like Joe Montana.

This x 1000

He NEVER steps up into the pocket, which makes it much easier for the pass rush, but also enables him to bounce it outside and do his typical BS

I saw our center O line get destroyed on many, many occasions, yes Hurts should step up more but our O line is terrible, Hurts doesn't handle pressure well and that's bad because our O line doesn't stop pressure well, it's a perfect storm that kills drives.

100%. Damian Harris still disappeared on key drives. Jalen missed a handful of easy throws. Before the Payne interception that game was headed the direction of the auburn game.
28 games into Hurts career and the same mistakes are happening.

That was the same offensive clown show that we’ve seen all year. Absolute garbage playcalling and personnel decisions.

Oh I think it’s answered the one primary question that was there before the season began - Was Brian Daboll going to be a good OC. The answer is in on that:
