Fried last night was fvckin unreal. His competitive fire was on another level.

I haven't seen a Braves pitcher that locked in during a playoff game in nearly 20 years. There have been some quality performances, but the last time I could literally feel the "bring it on motherfricker" attitude radiating off of a player was Glavine when he was the only guy who showed up to the 2001 NLCS.

Ian will give us a good start tonight. I'm afraid Wright is going to struggle big time against a lineup like the Dodgers who won't chase his slider. But whatever, at this point, we'll just have to figure it out.

Yeah I think tonight is key. If we go up 2-0 the pressure ramps up on them tenfold. They will start to press and take more chances.

Wright is probably going to pitch his way into trouble at least a couple of times and have a much more difficult time pitching out of it against L.A. than he did against Miami. If he can give us 5 competitive innings we have a shot though. He just can't let 1 run turn into 4.

Cheating Astros gotta uphill battle in the ALCS.
Tampa playing great team baseball as well.

Yep - and he didn't even have his best stuff. He was battling himself with that fastball, but he was just not gonna fvckin give in. He and Soroka are such competitors, and then Ian Anderson is basically a gawddang robot built in a lab. It's incredible for such a young group of dudes.

Not to mention who is on the mound for them tonight with all his ghosts...........

We got a shot, but we gotta win tonight IMHO.

And then I gird my loins for Wright, Ynoa and Tomlin/Wilson. Frick it, lets ride!

Sadly we always get regular season Kershaw and never the playoff version of Kershaw who serves more meatballs than a waiter at Olive Garden.

Tonight's game is huge!
We all know a big key in taking the favored Dodgers down is getting into their bullpen.
It doesn't come close to matching up with the Braves deep pen.

I think this may be the first time Kershaw has faced the Braves where he had any real pressure. Even that start in LA that ended in disaster with Kimbrel in the pen, while a "big start", he was facing a shitty lineup, Freddy Garcia on the other end and it was only Game 4.

This game is massive and he is near the end of his career to change the narrative. He knows, we know it, everybody knows it.

George did you get tickets for the NLCS? Wondering how the process is over there.

Also the lineup tonight against LHP...

Any chance we stick with Panda at 3rd. Riley in LF, Pache in CF, Acuna in RF

No, it just became impossible to get 4 guys together to fly to Dallas mid-week. If we can get to the Series I think I might do it, though.

Have we announced for sure what we are doing with Duvall? I dunno the extent, but that's a tough decision if they think he could be ok for the World Series, because we don't have a good option to replace him.

Kershaw scratched with Back Spasms. Even though we are the only team on Earth he owns in the postseason I had a feeling we were gonna get to him tonight

RHP Tony Gonsolin will start Game 2 of the NLCS. LHP Clayton Kershaw has been scratched with back spasms.

The bomb that Riley hit last night was a no doubter, take that Dodgers moonshot.
The sound of that baseball coming off his bat was majestic.

So Kershaw scratched for Gonsolin and Johan added for Duvall

I'm guessing we go with

C- TDA
1B - Freddie
2B - Ozzie
SS - Dansby
3B - Johan
LF - Riley
CF - Acuna
RF - Markakis (blah)

I just don't think they're gonna play Pache even though I'd be completely content going Riley/Pache/Acuna, hitting Pache 9th and just telling him his job to cover everything between Oklahoma City and Austin.

I would start Pache in CF, Riley in LF, and the Fat Panda at 3B

He has also never pitched in a postseason game, and with May laboring a bit last night this really narrows the gap between the rotations.

I'm not sure Clayton wants any part of this years lineup.
As "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas said, Braves 7-9 can do deep damage as well.

It's the Dodgers, everybody they trot out has good shite.

Gonsolin was great early, but he came back down to earth in September.

July/August
17.2 IP
1 ER
0.51 ERA
16 K
4 BB
9 H

September
29.0 IP
11 ER
3.41 ERA
29 K
2 BB
23 H

And he hasn't pitched in 3 weeks.

I would start Pache as well.
Kid covers a lot of outfield ground, very patient, has a good eye at the plate, faster on the basepads.

This also really fricks with their pitching strategy IMO. I think their plan was to use May out of the pen as a multiple innings guy, but now he might have to start a game.
