All the Thad Matta talk from a few days ago seems to have died. I still think he'd be a good option, if he's truly healthy. Maybe better than Prohm.

- 3 NCAAT in 4 years
- basically rebuilt the roster and program after all of Hoibergs group left and is a #6 seed this year and Top 20 in KenPom
- has proven he can grind out seasons in the toughest P5 conferences, the SEC grind won't phase a bit

Those are most of my Prohm pros. I'd probably grade him a B/B+ hire. High floor, lower ceiling, definitely an upgrade.

Hoiberg is going to Nebraska. Matta is apparently still off the market. Rumor is Pitino Jr. will leave Minnesota for a bigger job. Pitino Sr. is available if someone wants to take a risk. Oates is still in play I think but probably not a good fit for Bama. Forbes is still available and a good choice after he’s through mourning his Dad’s passing. Musselman is available but the more I learn, the less I like him. Brannen is a gamble but could be good.
Honestly, the 3 most likely candidates are Prohm, Forbes and Brannen in that order iMHO. But Byrne may surprise us all.
