14 strikeouts through 5 innings

This is embarrassing

We’re not in Samford anymore.

Don’t look now but we only struck out once in the 6th.

Things are looking up!

I've gone from thinking we'll win two out of three to praying we don't get swept.

When it comes to the top teams in the conference we've still got a ways to go. It's a work in progress.

Thank God MSU is bringing in a new pitcher. Small was at 105 pitches thanks to 15 K’s in 6 innings.

At least Finnerty has settled down and ate up some innings.

Take away the 3-run HR in the 2nd that barely got over the fence and it’s only 1-0.

Friday night's determine the league. We're 1-4 in opening games of the weekend series in league play. Take away the nine we scored in our one win against SC and we've put up a total of FOUR runs in our four Friday night SEC losses, including two shut outs. Clearly you're going to lose a lot of games and series if you can't do better than that.

Bo still has some work to do. Gotta be patient, he inherited a disaster in the NL South. It ain’t gonna be easy

It's a miracle, Bama scored on State in the 7th. Way to go Ras with the RBI. 3-1 though still.

Not sure why you ever thought that

Because I'm a fan that has believed all year we're capable of taking two of three from a top five team. We had a chance to against Arkansas and Ole Miss, even if they aren't quite what State is. Yet here we sit being outscored 15-1 through 17 innings in this series.

We had no chance to against Arkansas - they bludgeoned us in 2 of the 3 games.

We had no shot against Florida.

South Carolina is not an elite team.

I'm happy with where we are but a road series against against one of the 3-4 best teams in the league is a just don't get swept series.

We went into Arkansas and Ole Miss game three tied 1-1 in the series, and you say Arkansas killed us two of three but we also beat them 10-0. We went into game three against SC with the series won and were close to getting a sweep.

We're young and scrappy, even if we're outmatched every series. It just seems like we're close without being quite there yet, and I know that sounds crazy to say being 4-10 in the SEC but we've rolled in nonconference and have had chances to be better than we are.

Yea - I agree with you. I just don't think we have the shutdown arm/arms plus enough scary bats to really make that next step yet. And that's ok, it's not unexpected. It's gonna be hard to win 2/3 vs a Top 10 team without a shutdown starter (like Tennessee has) or some pop in the lineup. We don't have either. Gonna be hard to put up 6 a game on Friday/Saturday in this league when you have play station to station baseball for every run.

I love this team - they play their asses off and play quality baseball. They just don't have enough dudes yet.

South Carolina lost 2/3 to Florida. Need to win tomorrow to stay a game ahead of them.

3-0 after a bunch of horseshite.

I like Robinson but it will be nice to have a SS that can make a throw across the infield.

Gentry gets thrown out at 2nd on a delayed steal. Not sure WTF we were doing.

Naturally Auerbach hits the next pitch into the gap in the right center.

3-0 state bottom 2

We’ve essentially given them 4 runs

We have...

A 5-hole hitter leading off
A catcher playing 3rd
A 2nd baseman playing SS
No Friday night starter

... and expected to navigate through SEC play basically trying not to get swept every series at this point.
