I hope Marcells injury is more like Herbs than Devonta’s

DOB
LOL, alright Snit.

Ozuna dislocated Ring and Middle Finger on Left Hand according to Shitker. Probably 10 day IL at the least

Y’all remember that game against the Nationals a couple years ago that went like 16 innings and we lost because Snit didn’t use our 2 best relievers? And Neither of them had pitched the day before.
Probably the most pissed I’ve been

Snit seemed to really turn a corner the last 2 years in bullpen management and doing more modern stuff. Turns out it was just a lot easier to make decisions with 4-5 reliable relievers, because his bullpen moves this year have basically been him spinning a wheel.
The options ain't great, but holy shite he has done some stuff that I can't even come up with a bad reason for. It's just random as hell.

It's not trying to limit usage of our "best" guys either. I don't think we have any relievers in the top ~40 for innings pitched.

Snitker said Martin is fine, but was unavailable. When he was acquired, the Rangers folks said there might be days like this for the reliever.
Bowman

What the Braves really desperately need is new owners. They are run based solely on a P&L and not based on making good baseball decisions.

Yes it is, but it ain't happening, unfortunately.

Yeah LM sucks but....

Just a reminder that Alex Anthopoulos CHOSE to give $70 million in 2020 and 2021 for Will Smith, Charlie Morton, Cole Hamels and Drew Smyly. Complain about Liberty all you want (and as we should), but don't ignore the real problem here. The money is there. It's spent poorly.
AA is awful.

Morton was dominant last night. Totally neutered our whole lineup. He has always given Boston fits.
Smyly has had his own success against Boston in the past as well so hopefully our bats show up tonight.
Pivetta has been really solid for us since signing. Pivetta is the only American League starter with five or more wins and no losses. Opponents are batting only .205 against him. He is 7-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 11 starts with Boston and is only the third pitcher to go unbeaten in their first 10 starts with the Red Sox, joining Mike Nagy in 1969 and Matt Clement in 2005.
Should be another good one tonight.

If Frowny can go 5 innings and only give up 3 runs I'll consider it a massive success. Aside from a couple of starts this year he has been putrid.

He always had electric stuff in Philly, just never seemed to piece it all together. Glad he's doing it now not in Philly.

He was atrocious the last start against Pittsburgh. I've never seen a team miss so many hung offspeed pitched as the Pirates did.

Also, random stat.
Out of all players with 65 plate appearances in May (178 players), Ronald Acuna has the lowest BABIP (batting average on balls in play) in the major leagues. He's in the Top 20 in average exit velocity and hard hit rate.
Ronald Acuna Jr - May
- BABIP - #178 out of 178 (.146)
- Avg Exit Velo - #17 out of 178 (93.4 MPH)
- Hard Hit Rate - #14 out of 178 (54.5%)
- Barrel Rate - #4 out of 178 (21.8%)
So if it feels like Ronald keeps lining out to people..........that's because Ronald keeps lining out to people.

George, what do the advance stats say about Luke Jackson. I am a known HATER of him but I feel like that 1.53 ERA is fraudulent and just good fortune.
