Folks, don’t worry. We are getting Corn back in a few games and Neal will get more and more experience.

Also I thought I’d start a thread as this is a big topic.

Hope it works out but it is more than one person problem right now

Agreed. Neal and Womack were lost today. The lack of juice in the running backs is concerning as well.

Stil, getting pushed around a little too much against a likely bottom 10 FBS team isn’t too good. Also it’s been a little while since we’ve had a consistently elite OL. Last year’s team had trouble running vs most of the best rushing D we faced.

Neal needs to lose 30 pounds and get in better shape.

Neal is slow pulling and can’t get to the spot in time.. good on the straight push.. but not a pulling guard right now. I’m not sure you can teach speed.. that’s in the weight room and at the dinner table.

But I’m holding out hope.. maybe he is just slow to the point because he is learning the plays and isn’t firing off due to second guessing

Yeah, though this team has dominated on the scoreboard, it just doesn’t feel like a complete team . . . yet - mainly due to the inconsistently up front offensively.

While I’m still concerned about the LBers, I feel great about the kicking game for once.

Neal is a tackle all the way. And he won't be effective really until he has a year in the program. Brown can't get back fast enough.

Up the middle on defense is a concern but no question that Reichard is the real deal.

Way to early to hit the panic button, but the OL needs to get a lot better before we play LSU.

LSU is getting pushed up front by Texas. They're no great shakes up front on D.

Hopeful it's just been a vanilla gameplan and lack of chemistry. Willis did not have a good day today.

That’s what I am hoping too

Wouldn’t explain no push up front but some of the play selection

In 2018 New Mexico State was #126 in team defense, and gave up an average of 269 and 5.1 per carry on the ground.

Would you say the OL has been the only real problem?

If we get that fixed, we’re fine? I believe that if we do, this team will easily surpass the 2018 team.

What do you think of Sark’s play-calling through two games?

I don’t see a DL out there that’s a matchup problem until the AU game, so they have time.

Cornbread getting back will be huge he was easily our best run blocker last year.

Also, I would like to see Keilan Robinson get more carries

Cornbread wasn't very good in pass protection, but these guys can't run block. I'm not sure what to do

Alright guys, I gotta get this off my chest. We rushed for 300+ yards and averaged 9.9 yds per carry. Six different players averaged 5 yards or more per carry. Did Tua get sacked today? If so, I don’t remember it. Are y’all really worried about the OL play or are y’all trying to find areas of improvement?

I saw some lapses in effort and focus today, but other than that it was a fun game. Was watching it with my nephews and we had a blast! RTR

75 of that came from a pass that was behind the line which resulted in a rush. That boosts the average big time. I think you have a point in fans over criticizing it a bit but their play has been shaky.

There’s definitely a concern but I’m confident it will get fixed. Talent is there.
