Saban's discussion on the vaccine really sounded like he was speaking to some of the guys on the team. Basically said yes its a personal choice, but you need to think about how it effects your team, and how it will effect your value if you're the unvaccinated guy that can't play and brings covid into the building.

Being vaccinated does not stop people from getting covid. Players that are vaccinated can also get covid as well. A lot of misinformation being spread about this.

Nick Saban wants his players to get vaccinated. You are welcome to tell him that's stupid, though.

You're pretty sensitive. Nowhere did I say it was stupid. Simply stated that players just because they're vaccinated does not mean they won't get covid. Like I said a lot of misinformation

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but will vaccinated players be tested as well?

Ii lessens your chance of getting covid. If you get covid while vaccinated it's a breakthrough infection, and those are a lot rarer than an unvaccinated person getting covid. Also if the team reached 80% vaccination rate I am pretty sure they dont even have to be tested aside from the unvaccinated players.

You're 100% right, the possibilities of getting and spreading covid are not entirely eliminated by vaccination. Vaccination does, however, very much reduce your odds of getting covid or acting as a spreader. It also reduces the odds that, should you get infected, you will experience severe or long-lasting symptoms.
We also don't know exactly what the testing policies are yet. I think its fair to say that schools with a higher rate of vaccinated players may have a shot at not having to deal with as thorough of a testing regime.

It lowers the odds of you getting COVID. Significantly.
As for the specifics of this situation - once you get to 85% of your roster vaccinated you are not required to test regularly or wear masks inside the facilities (as of now). That means your kids won't test positive for COVID because they won't test for it. And because they are vaccinated, the odds that they have symptomatic COVID are much, much lower.
All in all, the competitive advantage for having most of your roster vaccinated is pretty clear.

The worst part about the University of Alabama, is it's located in a state where more than a handful of people say this kind of stuff in an era where everyone has internet.

Conclusion statement, rule, explanation, analysis, reiterative conclusion... how dare you form such reason here.

Are you a lawyer or did you just stumble into CREAC (a writing format taught in law school - Conclusion, Rule, Explanation, Application, Conclusion)?

You can get Covid if you're vaccinated. Four of the NC State baseball players that tested positive were vaccinated. The Yankees just went through the same issue I think last weekend, were above the 85% level like the SEC wants, and had vaccinated players test positive. The NBA playoffs saw vaccinated players have to sit out. The All-Star game had vaccinated players test positive.
The idea is to hit a certain number of vaccinated players so your team doesn't have to get tested, which is what Saban wants obviously. However, it looks like Sankey may flip this rule based on his comments yesterday and the new Delta variant.
It's not some conspiracy theory but hey that's what the internet is for right?

I’ve never been tested for covid, therefore I’ve never had it.

CREAC, IRAC, IRR, WACC, it's all wack... you'll never know...

Very few, if any, of the players were at risk to begin with.

This is true but misleading IMO.
I had a regular checkup with my PCP yesterday. He told me that 99.2% of the people who are currently being hospitalized with Covid in the US (could have been Alabama) had not been vaccinated, i.e., only .8%, less than one percent, of current Covid related hospital patients have been vaccinated. That is an overwhelmingly positive number in favor of vaccination.

What I gather is, even if you do get it, your body develops antibodies that attack it way more efficiently and the sickness never rises to the level of being hospitalized, or death.
That alone should make folks want it.
Being sick sucks, and you'll get sick eventually anyways, but I think the "having to cheat death" or meet your maker option is what you're really getting it for.

They were not symptomatic, and were not a danger to anyone. The were not even required to be tested until one of their unvaccinated teammates tested positive and exposed a second one.
