Mac Jones can be praised without bashing Tua. So many fans are taking the opportunity to downplay Tua. We may not have another top 5 QB in the draft in our lifetime.

They both played for the team you love.

I’ve said it 100 times. Mac is ten times the qb tua was!

I’ve quite a few fans on here, Twitter, and Reddit that have been bashing Tua the last few weeks. They talk about him as if he was not very good QB.

I agree. No need to compare Tua to Mac. Both are different players and I have lot of respect for both as a human and as a player.

Yup. Tua has the athletic ability and instinct.

Mac has the football IQ with with a great arm.

Both damn good at what they do, if in different ways.

Agreed. Tua had otherworldly anticipation and timing. He went through his reads at lightning speed. Mac has a high football IQ and makes great decisions. They're both excellent QBs. No need to bash one over the other.

Comparisons is one thing, I’ll keep an eye for hate speech.

So we can shite on Golding and Moses constantly, but if we dare question saint Tua that is a crime? Name me a game against a top 20 defense, other than uga 2017, where he won the game for us.

You don't get it. Why are you questioning a player that plays on the Dolphins? Why go out of the way to say he is overrated when all you needed to say was Mac was good?

It would be like saying Patrick Surtain is the GOAT because Marlon Humphrey was overrated.

It's just toxicity for toxicity sake. Golding and Moses still wear Crimson so within reason they are fair game for criticism.

Tua deserves all of the praise he ever got as an Alabama QB. Maybe the best Bama QB ever. I think he is the better, more refined QB.

One thing about Mac that I love is that I don’t hold my breath every time he gets touched. That’s a big change from Tua. There were a couple of hits that Mac took tonight that would’ve sent Tua to the injury tent.

Auburn 2018 was 6th in defensive S&P. LSU was 5th. And that’s just me looking at two games off the top of my head. The man in 2019 came back straight off ankle surgery and had us five points behind an LSU team that demolished everyone else in the season, including Clemson.

What a terrible gump take

The downplaying of Tua is weird, he’s still miles more talented than Mac and that’s not a slight to Mac’s performance or ability this year. I just don’t understand at all why there’s all these posts and threads about “Mac/this team is better without Tua”. I can fully understand venting frustration over his injuries, but talent isn’t even an argument.

I think fans are just relieved to have a really solid, championship-level player at QB instead of a finicky, injury-prone superstar.

The Tua era was a frustrating couple of seasons.

The Mac era feels good

Tua is a great QB talent, and I’ll always love him for winning the national title vs Georgia, but I think like many fans, I’m glad he has moved on. It is what it is

It's a fair take. They are both awesome.

Mac has played four games at most in a season and were already qualifying him as being somehow less injury prone than Tua. Even after he was hobbling after a few hits tonight

The irony is strong here

The renaissance we are having on offense is because of Tua;he was the spark that started attracting top WRs to us.
Pretty dumb to say anything negative about Tua.
But then a whole bunch of us dumped on Hurts while praising Tua. Guess its the nature of fandom.

I agree.. we are also on a message board where people come to discuss, compare and throw ideas around. It’s going to happen.. I do see where bashing him is stupid, but those saying we shouldn’t bring up his name or compare because he plays for the dolphins is kinda out of touch with what the purpose is of a forum. We compare all players to past ones, it’s the only scale we really have. I love Tua.. he is still my second favorite player of all time. ( DT was my all time) but he isnt immune to comparing. If someone thinks Mac’s better.. I don’t really have a problem with that. It’s their opinion and it’s fine to have one of those, despite what the current PC world keeps telling us.

(This reply wasn’t at you Jerry besides the agree part.. it was just in general to everyone)
