In regards to the metrics, they’re only relative to other teams playing that season, right? For instance, has tempo increased overall since 2002?
That's a good point. I don't think college has increased as much as the NBA, as illustrated in the chart on Oats' recruiting slideshow that they showed during the LSU broadcast. But that's certainly something to consider when looking at these comparisons.

So, you bumped a thread that was almost two days old to say that it didn’t belong at the top of the board?

For what it’s worth, you were right. I forgot about the graphic Oats showed in that segment, but I did check the average AdjT from 2002-present for the top 10 teams in that category. Outside of a 4.3% increase from 2015 to 2016, there wasn’t any statistically relevant change over that period.
Interesting that there has been so little philosophical change in scheme and tempo during that timeframe, especially when we see the direction FB has gone offensively.
Somewhat surprisingly, the lowest average AdjT from that timeframe was 5 consecutive years from 2011-2015. It’s obvious that Anthony Grant and Tony Barbee played slowly enough that it dragged down the average to its lowest point in the last 20 years.
