No he isn’t hurt, I think that must go at the top of every thread however,

Najee has rushed for 876 yards and nine touchdowns through 10 games, the exact same totals Damien Harris recorded through 15 games last season. Najee has done it on six fewer carries.

He's really had a fantastic year. Happy as heck for him, too. Guy deserves it.

Hope we wear his arse out in Auburn, would love to see him carry it 25+, Jones would be lethal on play action with our receivers.

I loved Damien as a player and ambassador for the university, but he is on a practice squad and took those carries away from one of the top 5 backs in the NFL last year

Insane to me that he got 30 more carries than Josh Jacobs last season

Regarding Najee, he's made himself a lot of money this season. There are only a handful of 3 down backs in the NFL. RB has become a position that requires so much more than just being able to lower your head and carry the ball. Having a guy thats 220+ and is able to naturally catch the football is a rare find. Don't see any way he slips past the second round if (when) he decides to come out this year. He'll test poorly in the 40, I'd imagine in the 4.60-4.65 range, but his agility drills and field workouts should get him drafted high despite that.

Saban made a comment earlier in the year when we were moaning about our offensive line that maybe the backs weren't necessarily running to the spot they were supposed to, and that the line was blocking the play how it was designed. Credit to Najee for spending time in the film room and trusting the coaches here. It is really hard for a junior running back to not just trust his initial instinct when he gets the ball. A light has absolutely come on for him and he's been a much better player since it did.

Yep - his "vision" has been really good the last 6 weeks or so. His first TD run against State was beautiful.

I know that Saban said that, so you'll use that to argue against this, but Najee has ALWAYS been awesome. He just doesn't break off a lot of long runs generally, so people thought that he was overrated.

Just look at his numbers over the last 3 years. Look at his numbers when we actually feed him the ball more than a few times. Look at his numbers in most of the big games over the past 3 years.

He was averaging over 6 ypc going into the LSU game this year, and had only 1 run over 20 yards. Think about that. That's pretty amazing.

I think Bama's running game...is underrated...overshadowed may be a better term, but Najee is OK by me. Dude has heart size and balance. Might not have break away speed but has really good hands and he does not seem to get tired as the game goes on. I hope Bama gets him 20..25ish touches in AU. Between passing and running. He and Robinson are instrumental in the effectiveness of the defense

The biggest knock on Najee, in my opinion, is he doesn't have quick feet. He weighs 220+, so he doesn't NEED quick feet. But that means if he gets to the line and starts trying to pick a hole, he usually can't accelerate and change direction quickly enough to produce a positive play.

On the flip side, he's got tremendous balance, and he's strong as all get-out. If he gets even a small crease, he's into the second level quickly. Those stretch plays where he can plant his foot and turn upfield through traffic tend to be his most productive, I think.

Just curious how Auburn may prepare the field to hinder Alabama this time.

Biggest knock is his top-end speed.

I’ve called him overrated many times in comparison to the media hype that he gets.

I would still argue that point but nowhere near as hard as I was before the season. He has been awesome and shown me that he’s better than I thought.

If that happens, we will almost certainly lose. Auburn will likely stop the run. Their DL is as good as it gets.

Damien outrushed him in 10 of the 15 games, higher ypc in 8 of the 15 games.

People are better in college than the pros and vice versa all the time. It doesn't mean they weren't good college players.

Tim Tebow played ahead of Cam Newton. Both won the Heisman but one has been an NFL MVP and the other washed out pretty quickly.

Baker Mayfield played ahead of Kyler Murray. Both won the Heisman, but Murray looks the part in the NFL and Mayfield has been a huge disappointment.

Harris was a really good college back and had a ton of production at Bama. What they are doing in the NFL doesn't speak otherwise.
