I know he's a true freshman, but he was in over his head last night.

He's had a fantastic season. That's undeniable. However, he's not fast enough to cover someone like Toney and it showed.

He somehow missed the obvious fumble recovery that sparked new life in Florida and completely changed the makeup of the game. He comes away with that and we win by 21+.

Thankfully, we won the game. Hopefully, his performance was a one-off and not indicative of his play in the CFP.

He was the unfortunate one caught up in many of the mismatches with Toney and Pitts it seemed.

I think he matched up better with Pitts than Toney. We actually held Pitts in check until the botched fumble recovery. He went off after that.

So you’re saying an adjustment in what he was asked to do should have been made. Too bad we don’t have a defensive coordinator to do that. At least he seemed to know his assignment even if he failed to complete it. That’s completely opposite to what we see with 32. He doesn’t know his assignment at all it appears.

We already have enough Golding hate on here so I didn't want to beat a dead horse, but yes, our defensive scheme could have been better and put Malachi on someone else.

I have it on good authority that Dylan gets everyone else lined up properly and his direction of the play calls takes precedence over his on the field performance. It is what it is.

It was a tall order to ask he and branch to match up against upper class-men of that level.
You know Mullen would attack, but to be honest you expected toney and pitts to make plays.
But our safeties just did not help enough and wright was close to breaking up the middle catch to pitts..Then DC wise we decided to rush 3 all night, but maybe should have went after task more?

I am not really mad at Moore nor branch and he is our quickest db as for slot people. He's been in most wr back pocket all yr.But yes he had a rough night and as I posted earlier last night it was there first SEC and championship play.We had most of the defense playing in there first Championship game.

If he turns his head and locates the ball he had an easy interception. I was screaming at the television when that happened.

I'm not mad at Moore either. He had a bad night. Hopefully he learns from it and returns to form.

Rough night for the youngster for sure. Florida has 2 legit guys on the outside and they weren’t looking for drag routes. Last night was just one of those games where you have to watch film and learn from those mistakes.

The replay of that fumble that was given back to Florida appeared to show Moore in possession of the ball with his butt on the ground, but it was naturally never looked at. He also probably would have had a 100 yard TD return on Toney's goalline fumble if that play had been allowed to continue and the replay official hadn't been criminally incompetent.

He got picked on a lot in coverage, but he also had a couple of big plays taken away from him because the SEC has the worst replay officials in the country.

Even the cbs in the nfl have bad nights. It's about matchups and he just drew the short end of the straw. While clemson has a better qb, no one in the playoffs but us will have the same weapons fl did.

Reminded me of Minkah’s game his freshman year vs Renfrow. Moore has been solid all year and I expected Florida to attack our middle and it happened. Sometimes you gotta tip your hat to the other team, and Mullen called a great game for them.

I'd take Kyle Trask over Lawrence seven days of the week. The only thing Lawrence does better is running the ball.

Me too. Like I said, hopefully this was his only "bad" game of the year. He didn't play terribly, it just wasn't his night.

Well nfl teams aren't so I'll just go with them for arguments sake.

That's the media. They also think Justin Fields is a Top 2 pick. He's terrible.

Bama defense usually gets smoked by elite WRs in the slot. It's our MO.

It's mostly because our scheme has experienced DBs starting at the outside and safety. New faces start at Star.

This isn't new. Good example is Minkah getting torched.

Yep.

Replay buzzes in on multiple plays where the only issue is did the guy get a first down or is it second and inches but they don't even find it worth a second look on a fumble that had major game implications.

SEC on field refs are not good but the SEC replay system is completely broken.
