Unless I missed something, not seeing a lot of discussion on here about the actual game that is just a few days away.

This game worries the shite out of me. In a Utah, foregone conclusion kind of way.

Washington is too good of a football team not to be getting any more respect than they are. Plus, CCP is kind of good at coaching against higher ranked teams.

Most people are pointing to the USC game to get a feel on huskies.
Me personally find the Arizona game more telling even-though it was earlier in the year.
they use all kids of stunt blitz to make teams not run straight at them with cut back possibility.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bwADAWO0kY

But there big up front but there d-line does not moves lateral very well at all,
Harris & Jacobs should do well with there quit feet.
They can be run on between guard and tackle and on the edges.
Then power by Bo Scar after first half.

They keep a single safety almost between 15 and 20 yrds deep and will rush three and drop 8 most of the time.
But but delay blitz a hybrid lb/safety combo type player.
So hurt' is gonna have to tuck it to keep a few drives alive early in the fist half.

Washington offense is explosive and pruitt may want to get after The Qb right out the gate.
we should force him away from there top wr side and move him off the point.
He not as accurate and loses velocity we he not planted for the complete (avg 4-5 second release time time)

Expect to see Foster and Evans living in their backfield on those blitzes.

UW is a good team, but they're not as good as they were earlier in the year. They lost their two best defensive players to injury. They've just had no pass rush since Joe Mathis went down. They don't have the depth right now to just plug in the next superstar the way Bama can.

I think it'll be somewhat close at halftime but you guys wear them down in the second half.

All depends on the Washington QB, if he has time to see the field and make his reads, it will be a close game. If Bama gets pressure like they did last year in the Cotton Bowl, Bama will blow them out.

Even at 350 pounds, Vita Vea is still capable of this:

Jalen Hurts is really our biggest worry. If he was an average passer and took care of the ball then there would be no doubt of the outcome.

I watched a little of their game against Cal yesterday. As long as Bama shows up to play (which I'm not worried about) and doesn't turn the ball over a lot (which I am worried about) I don't think there's much reason for concern. Barring a weird, flukey game, I think Bama will win easily.

Petersen is a good coach, I just don't think they have the horses to compete in this race. Their average recruiting classes for the past 5 years are ranked probably in the upper 20's. I don't think they have a single 5* guy on their roster, and they signed at least twice as many 3*'s as 4*'s. Obviously, that doesn't mean they can't be good and win, but it's a pretty good gauge of their talent level.

The only way I see Washington winning is if we have a game like we did against Ole Miss in 2015. Which I highly doubt (Knock on wood) because this is not an early in the season game with a question at QB and a huge revenge factor. Another situation we have to hope Alabama can avoid is one where we gain the lead, get complacent, and allow a huge momentum swing via a trick play, turnover, or special teams play. (Sugar Bowl 2014 anyone?) But Florida pulled out all the stops with the trick plays and such and were shut down every time. I'm very cynical but this team really may just be too good to piss this one away. (Knock on wood again)

The only way they beat us is if we give them cheap TDs and our offense screws around. I've got a feeling Washington isn't going to flinch if we get up early because Peterson is a quality coach but I'd like to force them out of their gameplan early. Browning did not look good against USC when they were having to come from behind. His body language was terrible. Maximize every possession on offense and wear them down. Would love to see some early long drives. Last thing we need are quick 3 and Outs where we waste the first quarter.

Just keep them from making a 4 quarter game where a deep ball or two to Ross or a trick play puts them in position to win. They will try to hit a long of home run balls.

Their defense ranks in the top 10. At #10 I believe. Didn't know that until this morning. Their offense has done a lot of damage as well. After checking them out I am more impressed with their defense. Their dline is big and they move well. Their secondary is top notch as well. After saying this I think we may struggle to move the ball but not like they are going to struggle. 7 of their opponents are ranked right at the bottom on defense. Doesn't bode well for them imo. Browning is legit and he has an elite WR to throw to but they won't make a living off that. They won't be able to run so we can pretty much just come after him all game and that's pretty scary if you are a UDUB fan.

Bama 33-14

Don't confuse our fan bases lack of care for Washington as our team doing it. Our team is very high energy right now. Practice this morning was great and the defense is firing. I have no doubt we will be ready and not looking ahead by any means. No player or anyone for that matter has made those kind of comments coming from the team.

My look on Washington is simple, the ranked games they have played have been average. Pressure Browning which, we do well. Run the ball and get them tired. Whether it's lateral or up the middle.

I agree, Browning gets rattled and I don't believe they have a lot of depth on either side of the ball.

Just from my observations.
Washington played opponents with a combined record of 78-78. 6 are bowl teams while one was an FCS school with 3 wins.
7 teams had 5 or fewer wins! 1-2 win team, 2-3 win teams, 2-4 win teams, and 1-5 team win team.
Common opponent was USC, who won by 13 IN WASHINGTON!! Same team BAMA skull drugged by 46 to start the season with a true freshman at QB!

BAMA opponents compiled a 94-63 record.
10 bowl teams and 1 FCS team with a 9-4 record and a trip to their respective playoffs.
BAMA faced 3 teams with 5 or fewer victories. 1-3 win team and 2-5 win teams.

I still think of this stat though and it eases my anxiety levels. 27 rushes for 17 yards!! UW against USC.
