Let’s give some credit to the LSU offense

I’m as disappointed with our defensive effort as everyone else, but we also need to acknowledge that was an elite offense last night. Some of those greater defenses we’re all reminiscing on never faced a high powered air raid offense the entire season. This is a different era of college football.

I said all week we had to get pressure on him and knock him around.

We didn't and he picked us apart.

Our DB's practice against elite receivers every day.

Tons of credit to that LSU offense. One of the most efficient units I’ve ever seen. Even when we made it a 1 score game and BDS was rocking, they came out and didn’t flinch. They scored everytime they needed to score.

Burrow is very accurate but last night he only made a couple of tough throws. Their scheme was great and they had guys running wide open on a ton of plays. The rub routes out of bunch formations were infuriating.

Yeah Burrow is legit. Honestly as a big NFL guy, I'm looking forward to him at the next level. Their receivers are great too.

We did sack him a few times, and there were other times we knocked him on his arse. We also forced a fumble from him.

He did make a few good throws.

But more than anything, he had wide-open receivers all night long.

He's a great QB, he's tough as shite, and their offensive staff coached circles around Golding.

We sacked Burrows at least five times and got many pressures on him.

Our main problem was 3rd down.

Oh and out LBs and secondary didn't know how to tackle #22.

Burrow is good, but CEH won LSU that game. That tip of the hands catch he made on 3rd and long sealed the game for LSU.

2016 was not that long ago. The Spread was the dominant offense at that point.

As for LSU's offense, they played well, but it makes it a lot easier when you have a short field over and over.

They practice against our scout team, far from elite.

And, apparently, they sucked.

"LSU runs a complex offense, a system that causes confusion for opposing defenses.

And Alabama’s defense had some trouble at times during practice while prepping for these LSU concepts. There were some missed assignments and blown coverages during the week while working against Taulia Tagovailoa and the Crimson Tide scout-team offense, according to sources."

I actually thought we got decent pressure. There were a handful of times he was able to escape it or we didn’t finish the play. The one where Mayden missed the tackle stands out.

But we got at least five sacks. That’s pretty good.

I was really referring to 2011, 2012, those defenses. 2016 is the greatest college defense I’ve ever seen. It don’t feel it’s fair to hold another defense to that one’s standards. You’re talking about two of the best safeties in the NFL today on that team, all NFL d-line, and most of the linebackers.

The guy who really worried me was 22. Contain him and I thought we’d win. Kid played great and we didn’t tackle worth a damn.

JB was lights out....but I was mostly impressed with #22 for LSU. That young man balled out. He reminded me of E Lacy, M Ingram, J. Jacob's and T Richardson all rolled into 1.
Attacked tacklers, spun out of tackles, carried the pile, good hands out of the backfield and ran hard.

Imo, he was the one who had the most impact in the game. Hmo

Burrow didn't have to throw into any tight windows the entire game. It was pitch and catch for him. Burrow is good but not elite. I saw Deshaun Watson and Newton against far better Bama defenses and those guys were elite.
