Was it just me, and my son, lol, but was that first half not brutal? At one time one of our players was on an Auburn guy's back beneath the basket and no call. They seemed to tighten up after the half. However, it still seemed to me Like an atrociously Called game.

Your thoughts?

It was awful. They couldn't figure out whether they wanted to tighten things up or let guys play, and their version of letting guys play was basically if you are in a semi-crowd inside 15 feet there is no foul. However, as the game tightened up late, they decided they had to start calling every touch and bump out in space. And on top of that they were flipping coins on charge calls.

It was not good. I didn't think anybody was really getting hosed, it was just the worst kind of refereeing when guys don't know what to expect.

Herbet should have about 10 more charges on the season.

They were terrible.

Didn't favor either team, just all-around bad.

Yes.

While we do get a call here and there (2nd half foul to put us in the bonus) , we sure as hell don't seem to get the home court advantage in that regard.

College basketball is probably the most poorly officiated sport on the planet in the last 3 years. I wouldn’t have an issue with it if there was consistency over the course of a game; not even a season, just a game. I understand a lot of fouls are judgment calls...but just like a strike zone for an umpire, don’t switch things up in the middle of the game. Call it with consistency. CBB is the absolute worst about letting the emotion of the crowd factor into a call as well. Didn’t really happen last night, but how often do you see the calls in a game swing with the momentum. It’s ridiculous and transparent. When the crowd is into it you see much more demonstrative signals from the refs.

It makes college basketball really hard to watch. When a team is at home and crowd is into it, the refs call the game like its scripted. I feel like im watching wwe.

NBA refs are at least as bad.

Here's my beef with all refs.

Ok, the scenario is that Auburn needed to foul us quickly to send us to the line. Twice they fouled us before the ball was even inbounded.
So, A. no time off the clock (favors Auburn)
B. fouled the guy with the worst FT % (favors Auburn)

Either fouls like this ought to be called intentional, or if they don't call it as intentional, all teams in the same condition AU was in last night, should do the exact same thing.

i didn't read all the responses. but it was brutal. but sadly the last 3 minutes of the game had a whistle every trip. neither team could get any rhythm going for the refs. it was ugly imo.

The last 3 minutes were excruciating. Went from a MMA fight to tickle fight on a dime. What were those refs thinking?

Maybe a rule change or at least Pre-January experiment might be in order.
Plenty of room for improvement and suggestions on how to finish the games without the last three minutes lasting 15.

Common fouls in last three minutes 1-2 FT and retain possession...plus
Eliminate "throw-in" and just start the clock on the dribble?

Time runoff for obvious intentional and especially flagrant fouls.

Administer FTs quicker. That's what takes so long.

I saw a comment the other day regarding the NBA All Star Game and it said something like:

"The NBA should insert a game for All Star Weekend where the players and refs are switched. Draymond Green, Boogie Cousins & co will be the refs."

That'd be dope.
