All of the expressions of concern for LaBryan in this thread are so heart warming.

Either we have the worst injury luck ever, or we need to take a serious look at what is causing all these lower leg injuries to our players. Never seen anything like it and I’ve been watching football for a long time.

Has to be a correlation to something we are doing or not doing. Too much smoke for their not to be a fire with something.

Were only 3 games in & damn, 3 D starters out for the season. Oh well, hopefully we continue to put up around 50 a game.

Agree... whatever it takes to get him healthy in the long run.

Maybe I’m wrong but... When players get exhausted it’s been said that’s when their most likely to get hurt. Players lose focus on protecting themselves. Today’s game is about getting a defense tired and exhausted and it does.

The rules of today’s games is to protect the defenseless player on offense. But when are they going to look at protecting the exhausted players on defense? When you can’t substitute players because it’s, go,go,go,go all the time. Injuries on the defense is going to happen more and more.

I read where Kendall Randolph was moved to DL and is wearing #85 now. It's gotten to that point.
Wish him the best. Need all the big bodies we can scrounge up at this rate

Excellent point. Might not explain Ray’s injury but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our injury luck has gotten worse over the last 5 years as spread/HUNH has become more prevalent.

Losing all of these great defensive players is tough. While I like our offense, they will, at some point, need the defense to win a game or two.

Right now... as long as these rules are in place. I just don’t think we will see a elite defense dominate the game again. Basically a bend but don’t break style maybe.

We kinda were bend don’t break Saturday. As bad as our starters played they only gave up 1TD on a miraculous catch in double coverage.

Yep. It’s how we do it against air raids.

The injury but has gotten ridiculous. Four damn years in a row. Has cost Bama two national titles so far.

We’ve got 3 first round picks at WR and a first round pick at QB. Average defenses have won a national title before. Golding is going to have to get creative, and Sark is going to have to call each series like points are life or death. No draw plays on 3rd and 8. You’ve got more offensive skill talent than has quite possibly ever been been assembled in college football. Use it. The receiving corps is quite literally better than several in the NFL

It's certainly better than the Saints.

And now we don't have a QB.

I'd like to believe that. But, I feel like this was our MO with last year's team too, and it caught up to us in a big way when we played elite teams in the post-season. Almost lost to UGA and Clemson crushed us. Just feel like a defense need to be at least good to win a title most years, and right now, our defense isn't close to good.

Sure it is. Are there problems? Absolutely, mostly caused by youth and inexperience. But they did a great job keeping USC out of the end zone Saturday, save for the perfect throw and catch, and the garbage time TD. I think our secondary will be one of the best in the league this season, if not the best.

Agree to disagree. This defense is not good by Alabama standards. We have given up over 100 yards rushing each game this year. Consistently put very little pressure on the opposing QB, and had a true freshman light up our star studded secondary for 300+, with guys running wide open half the afternoon in our secondary. Young LB's are getting exposed, and we have 3 starters in the front 7 out for the year now. Two 5-star recruits we needed for depth have hit the portal, because their egos couldn't handle not being stars from day 1. If this defense can just get to mediocre, we have a shot. Right now, they are not even average by Alabama standards, from where I sit. The good news is we have a month to get hem ready for TAMU. Alot of work to do, in a short window.
