ABILENE- Texas Tech women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry has accepted the coaching job at Alabama, according to a source close to the situation.
Curry, 46, interviewed with the Crimson Tide earlier this week. Neither she, nor Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt immediately returned messages seeking comment.
Complete details of Curry’s departure were not immediately known. Check lubbockonline.com or redraiders.com later tonight for more information on this developing story.

I think this is a very good hire for the program. Hopefully she can make us a competitive program.

She's logged 20 win seasons everywhere she's been so that's a very good sign. Bama W Basketball's last 20 win season was....1999. Our best ever record was two years prior in 1997 25-7 (10-2) and finished #8 in the nation. 1999 was also the last year they made the tourney that matters. If there was ever a challenge at the capstone, it's our women's basketball team. (a close second would be volleyball and so far, 2nd year coach Ed Allen is doing a well as could be expected).
Another note. Looking at her career record it does seem whenever she produces success, she moves on. (That's NOT a bad thing, Lord knows success at all would be wonderful) So if Alabama becomes a contender under her reign, I'd get nervous any time a job at one of the powerhouses opened up.
on a 100% positive note, Curry is a MUCH bigger prospect than I thought we could land so tip of the hat to Mr. Battle. Roll Tide!

She inherited a machine at Purdue, so I'm cautious with this hire. Her being from the south should help with recruiting.

Also inherited Sharpe's Tech program

If she succeeds at Bama... NO ONE will say she just inherited quality
This is good stuff. I think she may be the only coach on campus with a southern accent. (Saban is from up north, Murph is from Iowa, Grant is from Miami, Sarah is from NY etc).
Another good video after her squad defeated #1 Baylor. At UA, one of the holy grails here is beating Tennessee... something we haven't done since 1984. And even with UT being a juggernaut and us being pedestrian, the worst loss ever to them came this year 110-45. The closest we've come to beating them so far was in 1997 in Tuscaloosa losing 60-63.

Smith and Hudson where just in over their heads, before that was Moody and he was pretty legit and usually got the team to peak in the post season.... but was never able to get them above "pretty good"

Here's a video of her press conference that was held earlier today. Video
It should be noted, Curry is the first proven commodity to lead the program since Rick Moody left in 2005. (Moody still owns the most basketball wins at the capstone, men or women).

I like her. Sounds like she will bring much needed energy to a sleepy program. Think we got it right this time.
