Intredasting. Looks like both teams should be running the ball to me.

The Under Pressure numbers are very important IMO. We like to dial up those blitzes and if we take guys out of coverage to try and get to Bryant he's got a decent chance of making a play. I think being healthy at LB is going to be huge, we need our front to get pressure. We've got some guys who are capable of it. Davis, Buggs, Miller, Lewis, etc

Our interior push has to be strong. Remember 2015 when we had Robinson/Reed/Allen/Tomlinson on the same DL with guys like Anderson and Williams on the edges? Those beasts inside were creating a lot for our defense because they suffocated QBs. Time for a guy like Payne to go off.

Good news is Clemson is not very good at that.

Yea - I'm wondering if we play a version of the BEAR. Smother all the quick throws (like Georgia did to Auburn), don't over rush Bryant and make him stick back in the pocket and look around and make them beat us down the field. Totally agree about the LBs. Having a fully healthy and operation Mack Wilson, Terrell Lewis and Christian Miller will be huge both for their athleticism and rush but also just for depth rotation.

They aren't a good run team, so we should be able to keep our 2 high safeties or allocate them to the perimeter.

Hot take: Minkah Fitzpatrick's versatility can on certain occasions be a negative. He's too good not to play close to the LOS so he's in the action, but he's also too good, IMO, to not play deep and letting him roam and take away big plays. Other guys can do both of those roles effectively, but you feel like you're missing something at one spot by putting him at the other.

This is one of those occasions. Do you let him roam deep to prevent damage over the top and flow to the perimeter? Do you put him on those good Clemson WRs so they can't shake a guy like Harrison and get open for those drive extending catches? It's a positive wherever you put him, but it feels like a negative in the other spot because you know you have a guy that can do it better than whoever is there, but he's occupied elsewhere.

Yea, I'm the man.........until Clemson runs for 215 yards and we lose 38-37 while Georgia and Oklahoma duke out a 17-16 game

That's a damn good observation. I think in this game you have to decide what Clemson's best bet for explosive plays is and tell Minkah his job is to take it away.

There is a chance that is something different in different situations. I can tell you exactly what the answer is on 3rd and 4+...............

If Minkah locks down Renfrow for the win he'll be my new favorite all time Bama DB.

Yeah, I was about to comment on this earlier. Bryants sitting at a YPA of 7.4, with 13 TD's and 6 ints. This isn't a dangerous passing offense, it's the running ability. Bryant carries it 15-20 times a game and passes for around 150-230 against P5 teams.

We're going to see a good amount of quick slants, screens, and read option plays.

I could be wrong, but I feel pretty damn good about our defense vs their offense.

The other side of the ball is the real question mark.

I'm still very hesitant about this game. The longer it goes on the more our defense will get tired because of how run based they are, and I don't trust our offense to avoid 3 and outs this season since that's been the prevailing issue against any decent team.

in 2 tries we havent found anyone that can stay close much less lockdown renfro, exactly how will that change?

the op's stats bring out a glaring point of attack on bama. jalen is horrible under pressure. that all world d-line clemson has will exploit this. how is it fixed by game time?

Have to find ways to stay out of 3rd and longs. That's basically the entire offensive staff's job for the next 4 weeks IMHO. It will define the game.

Yea - if we can't stay on the field we will lose. There is zero doubt. And, so far, we haven't been able to do that very effectively.

The MSU game plan against us should be revisited by our staff. Pound the ball, run the clock dry each play, shorten the game. Keep our D fresh and their offense on the bench and we have a chance. When we do pass, it needs to be quick reads and release. If it isn't open quick, Jalen needs to tuck it and run.

Hope someone reminds Minkah that Renfrow destroyed him in 2016. Commentators were saying "That's a walk-on beating a 5 star athlete, folks"
