Rumor all over the place that:

A.) Ross is entering the portal
B.) Bama is favored as landing spot

If true, wowwwwww .

FWIW, an Auburn fan made a thread about Justyn Ross transferring about 5 hours ago. It was on 247.

I guess he might be homesick? Not sure why’d he leave Clemson. Especially given he would be their clear cut no.1 receiver

I tend to question if Clemson will clear him. Him leaving can’t be because of the change at QB. They have another stud in place.

I'm certain that's what it is, too. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Anyone know if his back ever healed up? I remember he had some kind of spinal issue.

Not cleared yet, but hopefully soon.

quote:

Ross met with the media Wednesday for the first time since his offseason surgery. He confirmed a bulging disk in his spine was repaired and that he met last week with Dr. David Okonkwo, a neurosurgeon who performed the procedure, via zoom for a check-up and to see how Ross is progressing.

There haven't been any setbacks for the receiver, who returned to the practice field in a limited capacity last fall.

"I have another (appointment) in June (in Pittsburgh)," Ross said. "So that'll be the last one to see if I'm ready to go by the fall."

Nothing thus far has led Ross or head coach Dabo Swinney to believe he'll be anything other than cleared for contact this summer.

That wasn't the case a year ago when congenial fusion was found in his spine after he suffered a stinger injury during practice. Ross found out it would require surgery and that his season would be over. He was assured, however, that his career would likely continue. It's not even something he's worried about at this point.

Not just us, Georgia and Auburn fans started the rumors.

When the news of this first broke, I distinctly remember there being a good chance that he'd never play again.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't recall anyone reporting that he was "assured" of anything.

Yeah unless the spinal fusion was a misdiagnosis or its just a very specific type that can be surgically un-done I don't see how he can play again. One hit in the wrong spot and he's in a wheelchair.

I don't care if anyone downvote this. Whole thing doesn't make sense.

1) Rumor was started by Auburn fans... Auburn/Alabama recruited him out of HS. Gus is gone.

2) Ross isn't cleared to play again... So why would he transfer if he hasn't been cleared?

3) lot of people are basing rumor on this website: LINK / and there is lot of holes in the article.

I don't think Ross is transferring... and if he is, I don't think Alabama is on the list. He wouldnt' be ready to play 100 percent this fall.

I agree, it doesn't make sense but who knows. He still needs to get the all clear in June so unless there is a transfer deadline we are missing (It looks like he has until July 1 to enter the portal for the immediate transfer) I don't see why he would jump in the portal now. And why would any school give up a scholly for him knowing that an any point he may get a diagnosis that would end his career or he could face serious injury. If he wants to continue playing his likely best shot is to stay where he is. I think the transfer portal is just fueling some message board/social media rumors like the McKinley Jackson stuff. (Watch him enter the portal today ).

ETA: I just saw the article that said it is from the Recruitology Twitter account. Yeah this is almost certainly bull.

If he transfers from Clemson to school X, and the doctors at school X also medically disqualify him, he wouldn't count against school X's 85 though would he? I think he still counts against Clemson's because he hasn't been given a medical hardship scholarship as far as I know, but if they haven't cleared him soon that seems like an inevitability.

I do agree with y'all that it makes no sense though and I'm sure a lot of this is just speculation fueled by the new environment surrounding transfer eligibility.
