Headed to T-town for my 12th straight regular season LSU vs Bama game live and in person (missed the 2011 champ game thank god lol). Some of you folks know me as I come around every year around our match-up, offer my insight on the Tigers, and even hosted a few of you fellas in Death Valley at my tailgate last year.

I was all set to skip Tuscaloosa this year and head to Nashville instead (I've never been to a game @ Vandy) but I just feel like I have to be there the next time we win against the Tide (in no way am saying that is this year). Hoping to get together with some of y'all, share a beer, and watch another classic game! Still my favorite road trip to make every year despite the recent (and historical) trend. Let me know if any of you fellas wouldn't mind hosting a few Cajuns (3 to be exact...dad, little bro and I) in November at your tailgate. Hell, we may end up doing one of our own and I'll be dropping a pin for y'all just like last year. Good luck until then and here's to meeting 1 vs 2 (Go Cuse this weekend lol) and 8-0 on November 9!

Stop back in closer to game time - glad you are making the trip

The Alabama/LSU gameday is one of my favorites.

When you bring your Big 12 offense into Bryant Denny will you also be bringing that Big 12 defense with you?

Point out the name-calling? That was a legit question. So, you don't talk strategy and game awareness with visitors over here. Are you confusing respect with specific game questions?

LSU averaged 3.5 yards a rush as well and ran for 102 yards for the entire game. Will they be bringing that one-dimensional passing attack to Tuscaloosa? Cause if they do they will see better SEC defenses, like Florida and Auburn. And I'm predicting some serious jailbreaks to Mr. Burrows.

Nothing disrespectful about those questions. And a few more just like them. Inquiring football minds would like to know.

I think it was more the insinuated scoffing tone, but honestly I like that you used your 37th post in a couple of years to bring this. No harm to me! I love it!

To answer your question, I think to point out our rushing avg and total doesn't tell the whole story. Clyde rushed 15 times for 87 yds I believe. +5 yds/carry. Not bad in the least. We were getting whatever, wherever we wanted in the passing game and our defense couldn't put a stop together to save their lives so the offensive mindset/gameplan was to keep picking them apart. Who would have thought even a month ago that LSU could get in a shootout and come out on top.

It's really hard to grasp a firm picture of what this team is and will be until the meat of our schedule arrives in October-November. We play NW St, Vandy, Bye, then Utah St in the next four weeks. Perfect layout in my opinion to get guys healthy, work on our defensive deficiencies, get the young stud backs some PT and more time to learn the playbook, and continue to grow in this new offense.

My biggest concerns so far are the lack of a pass rush we were able to generate vs UT and our linebackers covering WR/TE/Backs in space. If we could have gotten off the field just once in the second half, the whole game would have turned out differently. There were definitely some things that are simple fixes and others that may just turn out to be deficiencies. I think the tackling in space will clean itself up. That was a big puzzling development in the UT game. We are generally a sound tackling team and have the guys to get the job done. Have to be much better moving forward.

Thanks to all who have commented. SOG, I will def check back in closer to game time. Until then, good luck fellas! Here is to an undefeated September and October

I would also like to point out that in your only game vs a P5 team, your rushing was only 145 yds @ 3.5 yds/carry as well. I know y'all will be able to run the football! One game doesn't tell the whole story.

If you were talking about drinking beer and tailgating, yeah, I missed it. And I appreciate you taking the time to comment with a Bama fan with just 37 posts.

That's my point. Big 12 football is spreading, sorry for the pun. And it's bringing Big 12 defenses with it. Both defenses were gassed at the half and a track meet broke out.

As far as LSU winning a passing fest I thought that's what I was witnessing In your bowl game vs UCF. Burrows threw for 394 yards with a highly depleted roster vs the Knights. Was 21-34 for about 11.5 yards/pass.

Big 12 and SEC aren't trying to be bad on defense they just look bad from minutes played and as you mentioned, chasing in space. Orgeron knows it's a tradeoff. He will have his hands full controlling this version in the areas you mentioned as well as you get into SEC play.

not sure i will make the lsu game this year, even tho i absolutely love being in t-town when the cajun army comes in. however, me n baby brother are already planning a trip to baton rouge for next years dust up. if i had a bucket with a list, this would be right near the top

RTR

p.s. does anybody know if lsu does their wheelchair spaces the same way bama does? bama lets us swap regular seat tickets for wheelchair space at he box office on gameday.

Honestly I was surprised how fair the market was this far. We bought 3 tickets in N2 about 27 rows up for $301/ticket including fees from stubhub. For reference, we paid $350/ticket for the game in Austin this past weekend (2 months in advance) about 10 rows from the top of the nosebleeds.

Usually I would travel without a ticket for a game of this magnitude but my pops is 60+ and doesn't really like to walk the crowds searching for a deal . My brother and I were able to score two tickets day of for face value @ the GOTC after watching people dish out 1100$/ticket day of for similar seats. Also bc I live in Waco now, it's more important for us to sit together than to find a cheaper price (making more money helps that situation too )

We purchased now for fear of prices only going up assuming both of us take care of business moving forward. It is risky (think if Joe or Tua get hurt before the game :/ ) but again for reference, tickets in the same section we were in @ Austin were going for $900/ticket instead of $350 the week leading up to the game. Hope this helps!

I honestly didn't mean this to come off as condescending or insulting and not sure if it did. If you check and see, I have been on this site since 2007 and have less than 2000 posts I really was trying to say I was flattered you deemed me worthy to discuss legit football with. Hope no offense was taken.

Just curious your opinion, where do you think Bama fits into all of this? My hope honestly is that we will find ways to win games in multiple ways. Keyword is hope there bc I really don't know. I do know that other than Bama, we won't see another offense as good as Texas the rest of the regular season. In some ways, it feels nice to have "beat them at their own game". And right now I'm not 100% sure what our "kind" of game is.

No to room(s) booked yet...we will likely be staying in Meridian. Not sure yet tho. We will be booking in the next couple of weeks. Meridian has been a good stay due to the shorter drive back the next morning. But I am hoping dearly for a 230 kick since CBS dropped the primetime slot in the PM this year. I HAVE to be back in Waco on Monday morning @ 7 am for work and have an 18 month old making the trip from BR to Waco back with me...not quite old enough for Tuscaloosa yet

Goal is to drive up Friday, hit Biloxi for some golf and casino, hit the hotel PM, early to campus Saturday, back to BR after the game Sat night, then BR to Waco Sunday. Really don't want to drive T-town to BR to Waco all on Sunday with the back half with the little guy in tow. May just convince the Mrs. to fly back with the little man a couple of days later so I don't have the added stress of a baby on an already weary travel day.

Secondary market is killer for these marquee games. Could probably make a nice little profit by just selling the LSU game and have free tickets for the rest

If I lived in BR I would have season tickets and put in for every away game. Then I would never have to worry about this

Yes I love SEC games . Had tickets to NMSU this weekend and left in second quarter big Games are a lot of fun. Paid 200 for Auburn tickets last year in end zone . If both teams stay undefeated , you may have gotten a deal though . Hope y’all have a great experience
