That was in response to "worst Bama OCs".

It probably rocked him to his core.

Him leaving for Texas probably stemmed from that, or at least the seeds were planted.

He just didn't produce, but he does still call himself a product of Saban's coaching tree.

Applewhite?

I guess by forcing him out, he helped produce a NC...

So you believe insiders would know but players who are actually inside the program won't.

Lol okay.

No reason not to go with Locksley. Besides the fact he had helped massively with Eyabi he is an offensive mind.

My fault. I thought you meant that Daboll didn't produce.

Let me rephrase and add applewhite lol...Not gonna include Sark really because he was never truly the OC. So full time OCS that sucked were nuss, daboll, and applewhite

Playing devil's advocate here, but Nuss was pretty good. Questionable goalline playcalling sure, but he did a pretty good job.

Sark did a great job till Bo broke his leg.

Applewhite sucked. No argument here.

1. I don't think any players "know." I think they are voicing an opinion of who they would like. I also don't think any insiders know right now.

2. So because he signed a really good player he should be given the reigns to the offense? To use your term, "Lol okay."

3. Lots of people are offensive minds.

No, Locksley and Tosh are both outstanding recruiters, the best we have. If they are passed over for OC/DC they might leave for that promotion at other colleges.

Me, personally, I'd like to stay away from retreads.

Yeah, I mean, no offense, but how could they possibly competently coach a team like Alabama? Let's leave that to Auburn, right?

Oh wait, you said "retreads"... Nevermind what I was saying.

It will more than likely be Locksley. Saban isn’t going to get into another situation like Kiffin. He will hire someone he can control, not someone flashy.

You haven't provided any legitimate reason why he shouldn't be considered.

You also don't know what anyone knows because you aren't a part of the program so you can't speak as if you are.

Lastly, recruiting is important so yeah, we need to keep the guys around that can recruit well and coach. He can do both.

Btw, I'll be waiting on why Locksley shouldn't be considered. Try to steer away from bullshite reasons and head coaching results which habe nothing to do with game planning and play calling.

I was not overly impressed with his offenses at Illinois or Maryland. I wouldn’t mind being able to bring in a younger guy to be co-OC. And retain Locksley with more playcalling duties.

Suggestion: Let's utilize the stickied coaching searches thread.

Nick is in a tuff spot with both these guys. I don't believe he really wants to make Tosh the DC at this point nor Locksly as the OC but he might lose them both to someone willing to take a chance they can be The Man all the while looking more to get them more as recruiters. We'll see.
