Jalen Hurts is 15-1 as a starter and the catalyst for our win when he entered as a backup

What the hell is wrong with you people that think Tua would be an upgrade?

Was it his 6 of 9 performance last Saturday for 66 yards? Was that 67% completion percentage that impressive?

His 3 carries for 0 total yards?

His TD pass in garbage time?

I guess it would a disservice to Jalen to not post his stats in the same game, so I'll do that too.

14 of 18 for 128 yards and a TD. 78% completion percentage.

10 carries for 154 yards and two TDs.

What more does this kid have to do for some of you to accept that he is a proven winner and obviously gives us our best chance to win moving forward?

For frick's sake he was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year as a TRUE FRESHMAN.

Who cares if he doesn't throw for 300 yards a game? He's clutch as frick and doesn't get rattled.

Jesus Christ we have some of the stupidest sons of bitches on the planet in our fan base.

You're Goddamn right it was.

He's our QB and people who are holding out hope that he fails are fricking pathetic.

Hit submit when I was trying to click the text box, oops.

I understand people think Tua is a great talent and maybe a more gifted passer than Jalen. Is he? I don't know, one day we may know, but right now Jalen has proven himself a winner and Tua hasn't. I don't know if Jalen will ever turn into an elite passer. I'd love for him to, and I think he's already shown some signs of improvement from last season. The thing is he's already an elite winner, and here, that's all that matters.

The last close game we played Jalen was asked to go win it. He scored the go ahead TD. He never got the ball back to answer Clemson's final score because time ran out. We could sit here and argue about why that happened, that may have been the GOAT defense but they played way too many snaps in that game because the offense couldn't sustain drives? Was that Jalen's fault? Sark's? Saban's? I think there's a lot of sharing to go with the blame. Bo got hurt, but we still could've run with our highest YPC back Damien Harris or our electric runner Josh Jacobs. Jalen could've been more accurate that night, sure, but the gameplan IMO was our biggest downfall. He was a true Freshman against a pretty stout defense and no one would have thrived in those circumstances with the title on the line.

Who is holding out hope that he fails? Imo, the argument on this board is between "He is a great QB with minor weaknesses" vs "He is a conservative average passer at best who is a good runner." I don't think excitement for Tua means disdain for Jalen.

Actually move the offense against any one of the 5 great defenses we'll face this season. Win a national championship. Look consistently sharp/comfortable in the passing game.

Any of those things would suffice for me. As for as "waiting for him to fail," I'm honestly just tired of waiting for him to look like a QB we could win the national championship with.

Last year we all just crossed our fingers because he was pretty much our only option and he was a true freshman. This year we expected improvement, and we have a guy behind him with more NFL potential

I think that we may need Tua later in the season in games where Jalen is being contained. Have to wait and see on that one. I wouldn't call him an upgrade either.

One of them is the first reply to your post. He just won't outright say it.

Tua can throw the ball AND run.

Seems like he already considers Jalen a failure as a passer.

Heaping praise (credit) and criticism (blame) on QBs, with little regard for how much the other 21 players on the field (and other factors) impact the QB's chances of success, is a good indicator of low football IQ.

Not sure he can gain big yards on the ground. Our best shot at winning a championship is for Hurts to hit enough long balls to keep defenses honest. Not sure he can do it.

You consistently change your narrative. He had a great game last week so you go from
"defense" to "top 5 defense" and "for once" to "consistently".

So based on this, you're tired of waiting 2 games and his last dominating performance wasn't enough? It's hilarious how Jalen won SEC Offensive player of the year as a freshman, and somehow some fans think he's garbage that will never get any better. Hilarious.

How do you know this? You've barely seen him play. I love the Bama fan obsession with the back-up QB.

Probably absolutely no one. Only thing I've seen said was he's a very average passer at best, which isn't wrong, and probably not likely to change. No one wants to see a one dimensional team,(esp against an LSU or Auburn) but no one wishes the kid would go and lay turds on the field, in hopes to get Tua out their.
We just want to see the coaches work more to his strengths.

That is absolutely what the staff has done so far. They know that Hurts isn't gonna be able to sling the ball deep or intermediately with success. What we saw last week was a gameplan that played to his strengths and he responded with a record day on the ground and for the second straight week he at least hit the big play when a guy was running wide open.

Data, I give you credit for at least presenting good arguing points. However, UofArolltide and Huddie are our equivalent of those coonasses from the rant.
